Yes, it's his board. One I'm thankful to be a part of. Opinion I posted last night, deleted this morning, mainly spoke of how action reflects leadership. To keep things as orderly as possible the people in charge of things should try to lead by example. And majority of the time that is practiced. There is no reason to get in a 7th grade level argument w/ any member on this board. That really goes for everyone. Let me add this board is leap years ahead, once again an opinion I have, of countless others. People here on Sabrespace tend to understand respect. Simply learn it. Earn it. Show It. Have to lead by example.
Shouldn't we wait to see if PA was even offended by the post (I really doubt it) before we start a culture change. I thought it was light hearted and funny and didn't really mean anything. People need to lighten up.
Nfreeman, I welcome any and all digs thrown my way. They usually lead to good discussion.

Hands are way more important than feet. Hands and vision are what I care most about.

Meanwhile, the rest of us are still waiting for him to say something he has proven to be true.
Is it similarly difficult to find an example of things that have proven to be true?
Perhaps not. He pegged (although likely over-stated) T Peg as an "active" (meddling) owner before many were inclined to admit as much (including me).

I'm still waiting for someone to show me an example of something PA has said to have been actually proven to not be true. I guess it's just easier to throw barbs.

Well the uncle thing is kinda weird. But Terry Murray is his own man. I'm not concerned with the weird.
I have a nephew that I know will be my boss one day. I'm cool with it.

You are wrong.I checked to make sure. It's still really not very funny. I didn't even smirk.
Sorry, I read this too late.Nobody is to stone Eleven until I blow this whistle.

I still hate those in vertical videos.

Life's a piece if sh!t, when you look at it...

Sorry to hear that Bio. I was just going to complain about people who shoot video with their iPhones vertically, but it seems kinda silly now.
...still pisses me off, though.

First touch is exactly what it it implies - the first time you touch the ball when you receive it. The first touch is the most important one because it sets up your second touch, if needed. If your first touch forces the ball straight into the marking defender - you have lost possession. If the ball is touched away from pressure and into open space, then you have time and space to get your head up, find a teammate and deliver a pass with the second touch.
In soccer you want to always give yourself options. When receiving a pass, the first contact you make with the ball should direct it away from pressure and into open space. Next time you watch the women play you will see a lot of times they will play the ball into space so they have time to decide what to do next.
Using your first touch to go into space is fundamental soccer and something that was drilled into my head over the years.
tnx. Interesting. Looking back at that women's game, I did see that a lot of that, just didn't actually know what I was seeing.

Stay on your feet as much as possible. Make your first touch into open space. If you take more than 4 touches you are probably playing the ball to much. Challenge for 50/50 balls. Play the way you face and communicate with your teammates.
What does this mean?

The view from my apartment building's rooftop is one of the few things I enjoy in life right now...
That's a great view.

It's a Rochester problem. I've never played in a league here that wasn't this way. The only way to have fun playing hockey in this town is to play non-league. Zamboni leagues are good, or leagues where they play games but there aren't standings or actual teams. Village Sports runs some leagues like that. I've always just found people to play with who rent ice.
The only way you could drag me back into a real league here is if I had the opportunity to be on the ice with Josie in order to handle these problems. I want nothing to do with it otherwise.
What the heck is a Zamboni league? I've never heard this term before today.

My favorite Cup finals I've seen this far is still Boston vs. Chicago a few years back
FTR, that was the highest rated SCF.
Looks like good hockey translates to good ratings.

Good luck, NS! I don't know how people do those fasts, but much respect for it.
In other awesome news: thank you Jesus; I finally have job offers (from both places)! Now I have a tough decision to make by Friday. So glad I won't be unemployed in two weeks.
That's awesome.

sorry. I never know which is more PC.
He had "black ice" on his jersey. But if you call him that he screams at you and calls you a little bitch and asks if you want to drop the gloves. Apparently this happens against every team he plays against.
Whatever. Black. Darker skinned. Of african descent. I don't care what skin color he had, he was an idiot. My teammates were not in the right to call him other terms, and I told them so. Lot of stupidity last night.
Just funnin'. I hate those kind of jackasses. One of the reasons I like playing in the higher divisions, even if they may be a bit over my ability. They might be a little more physical, but it's rarely dirty.

"Colored"?
1950 called. It wants its word back.

So even with the couple of games on NBCSN it was the 2nd highest rated SCF ever. Not bad, although, maybe it would have been the highest if those games were on NBC instead.

That's the one. For some reason, I remember it as grass. I'll certainly defer to the guy who played on it.
Sorry, had to go to work. Yep, definitely not grass. The only positive was it made this slow white guy feel quick.
I miss my old Nike Sharks.

Which field do you mean? The two "old" football fields at UB that I can recall were grass, I think. Rotary definitely was grass, and I think the one near Governors' dorm was grass, too.
Just looked on the Google machine. It was what is now called Kunz field. Is it really called that? That's unfortunate.
We practiced on Rotary.
-
Sissies. ;) The old football field at UB (may still be there) had a base of sand, not those fancy rubber pellets they use today. It was like getting tackled on sandpaper (is this one of those rare literally and figuratively occasions?). Anyway, that sucked. If you didn't cover every single inch of your body, you were losing skin.

I don't know how it feels to the people playing on it, but I don't mind watching soccer on artificial turf at all. Don't even notice it after a while.
FTR, these players are really good.
-
Almost 40 years of watching that ceremony being done with other teams has me extra cranky today. I'm glad this season is over
And I really like the hologram idea.
-
I think thats what its actually all about. The players each want their own iconic photo holding the cup above their head in triumph post win. I'm o.k. with the ceremony. Its become a part of the tradition.
What is wrong with you? First you hate Toews and the Blackhawks and now the greatest celebration in sports? Yikes. Go watch curling or something.
Bun nailed it and that's what's wrong with me. Players are more interested in documenting that moment than they are in actually enjoying that moment.
Things that are AWESOME...

That's great.
This should probably go in the other sports thread, but why does the topic of steriods never come up when talking about Tiger Woods? He conveniently announces that he is taking a year hiatus a couple of months before the PGA announces that they are going to start testing, and he hasn't even remotely been the same player since. It's a little curious to me.
