He's also a little older than I'd want if we're trying for a goalie competition. If we're taking an older goalie I want someone with a lot of NHL experience to mentor Ullmark.

I don't think the Sabres will be able to trade Lehner. He's an RFA who needs to be qualified at a price higher than anyone will want to pay. He'll become a UFA and get signed for cheaper. Johnson is a UFA so he's playing for his next job for sure. I think we'll be let down on the controversy front.

Johnson starting tomorrow per WGR. After two good wins in a row, Lehner throws up a clunker and Johnson gets the return nod. Is Lehner on the way out? I think yes. Does Ullmark get a look before seasons end? I hope so. Is Johnson back next year? He lost basically every game he started until January. I'm not sure I put much stock in his recent success. Let's talk goalies.

We went and saw Black Panther tonight. It was excellent. Not only was the story good, the visuals were stunning, the smallest details minded. Beautiful film.

Sure. But there's a type of approach I respond to and there's a type of approach I don't respond to. I wouldn't respond to Shea Weber trying to beat anything in to me or shout at me. I tune out the drill sergeant stuff immediately because that is for chuds. But I would probably respond to the approach Housley has taken, which seems to be working btw, which is earn the kids trust and let them figure things out for themselves. You have to be willing as a person to seek help or receive advice. Or else nothing anyone says or does is going to carry any weight for you. I think Housley has been patient and let them come to him. Listen, if they can find another diamond like Drury then I'm all aboard. I just think you guys are hoping for lightning in a bottle.

This idea of someone coming in from outside the org and swinging their dick around is laughable to me. Maybe you get good results by bringing someone in that the players like. Maybe. But I think these lessons are ones the players have to learn on their own.

The problem is getting that kind of player to come here. I think we lucked into Drury, he went under the radar because of how good those Colorado teams were that he was on. Who knew he was Captain Intangibles? If these players exist what team is going to give them up? And if they're on a good team, how do you convince them to leave to come to dysfunctional Buffalo? This is why we ended up with guys like Moulson and Gionta. The best GMTM could muster was a bunch of unwanted cast offs. What younger player is going to follow a bunch of washed up hacks? I think we have to hope that those kinds of players are on this team or are coming in the pipeline. I think we have to hope that Jack or Sam become those leaders organically.

I think Sam was definitely one of those guys. His game has markedly improved.

Lehner is swimming out there. Zero control. It's a miracle Florida didn't score on the delay.

Reimer is also bad.

If he's deep enough in his net like he's supposed to be he can do it. The problem is because he sucks he's constantly way too high in the crease playing angles and he can't react in time. If the puck doesn't hit him just right he's f*cked because he can't recover.

He kicked the rebound straight out to the open side instead of to the corner. They're coached to literally not make that mistake.

The worst
