  1. That's a lot of hockey.
  2. It was created in October and hasn't been pinned. I believe pins are a thing of the past here, which I agree with. Allow threads to rise or fall based on merit. It should be easy enough to find.
  3. Sometimes I see the shuttle, but mostly it's a shark.
  4. Surprised. Expected c. $923K and perhaps as much as about $945K to $947K.
  5. Why?
  6. Hitler taking a nap.
  7. I have this old wall covering in my kitchen. Yeah, it's from the 60s probably. Amelia made me put up after I retired to keep me busy for awhile. Anywhos, I moved my computer to my kitchen table temporarily back in August, because I was convinced the outlet in my office was possessed. The puter is still here. So I spend many enjoyables minutes (hours) looking at the bizarre patterns in the paneling. Let's see who's as Cray Cray as PAy PAy. Do you see what I see?
  8. NB should star in any future M*A*S*H remake. Got the look nailed.
  9. Unless the Sens bring Lyndon Slewidge out of retirement, that's a hard no.
  10. May a horny scorpion take up residence in your sister's hoop skirt.
  11. If the NHL stuck with four, eight-team divisions with an eye toward creating rivalries (they won't; nothing I propose ever happens), what teams would you like to see join the Sabres? I'll go with Boston, Montreal, NYI, Carolina, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Tampa. I really don't care about the Leafs. Other than proximity, something involving Punch Imlach and his beaver hat, and a bunch of idiot Leaf fans filling up KBC, there's no there there. The Sens can go eat a beaver tail. And get your hats ready: Leave it to Beaver.
  12. If the governor of Florida was a Dem, we wouldn't be having this conversation on SabreSpace. It would be in a side club moderated by non-moderators.
  13. Point it is.
  14. No preseason games? Eight games against your division rivals? No trips out West? No games with Columbus or Florida? Sign me up permanently. The divisions would need tweaking, but I could live until the sweet release of death with eight games against seven division rivals (56 games), home and home with the other division in your conference (16 games) and one game every other year with the other conference (eight games). 80 games. What's the problem? Where's it written that LA has to come to town every year? About as often as the Olympics seems right. Oh yeah, lose the geographic division names while you're at it. And bring back Henry Pendleton.
  15. Respectfully you need to consider removing posts that are objectively false and worry less about political jabs.
  16. "It's not great at all. We're still going to be weeks and that long-term Covid is something which you wouldn't think possible in young, fit, athletes. Unfortunately, it is so." https://sports.yahoo.com/brutal-virus-leaves-newcastle-players-175249025.html
  17. Remove your post then. I kind of agree though. It's sad to see ignorance in this thread too.
  18. What Smell wrote. I didn't want to make my comment too specific about what I disagreed with, in the spirit of "leaving it at that."
  19. I'm sorry you went/are going through this, but it's good to hear you seem to be on the road to recovery. The oximeter advice is good, but normal is said to be 95+. I wouldn't want anyone panicking at 96. I don't agree with some of what you wrote, but in the spirit of being happy you're OK, I'll leave it at that.
  20. You forgot the part where the veteran slips on the carpet. Call 888 88 88. What if the players mimed scoring a goal using an imaginary net at the dot? They could even let the goalie score some night. It's not wilder than what the Hurricanes do. I can't see the league saying you can't do it.
  21. This won't sit well, but my understanding is that it won't really change much. The vaccinated won't be maskless and carefree. There's an open question as to whether even if vaccinated you can carry the virus and infect others. Also, 95% effective isn't 100%.
  22. Yes and thank you. But what? Maybe the horn blows, the red light flashes behind the opposing goalie, the goal song is played, the starting five skate past the bench and bump gloves, then report to center, up 1-0 before the puck drop. It's like — goddamit we're going to score tonight; get used to it, Leafs. Maybe they assemble around the goalie and all skate to their spots, letting the starting center go last to some kind of great fanfare. I'm seeing a graphic superimposed on the ice over the dot — that rotating "spotlighted" player circle you see on some broadcasts. There are a million billion things you could do. It's weird that, as far as I know, no NHL team does anything special in the time between the anthems and puck drop.
  23. Thank you. That's good food for thought. Would it shock you to find out I didn't give a lot of thought to an idea that I know will never come to pass? I think my assumption was that since it's being done before rugby, soccer and basketball games at the very least, those issues you mention had been resolved. Probably not a good assumption. Are you OK with the "appropriation" of this tradition in any setting? What about the school boys honoring a retiring teacher?
