  1. You must have missed the discussion yesterday. "Get involved" was presented as the league pressuring the Pegulas to sell if an important franchise (and thus market) keeps falling apart.
  2. Some have been suggesting that if the Buffalo franchise continues to be a dumpster fire, the NHL could get involved. Are the Sabres that important? I don't know. But there could be a practical limit on how many kicks at the can the Pegulas get. As Dan Rather used to say, underline/bold/italicize that word.
  3. I would have nothing to offer (except maybe that hiring from the college ranks is dumb). I'm not a board know it all. (I do think I'm right about the Pegulas, though.)
  4. But, obviously, they're going to need time for the stench of RaKru to wear off. Let's see how things look next, oh, Thanksgiving before doing anything rash.
  5. Are you saying if Adams is still the GM, he will need the Pegulas' help? I think that thinking of the GM/POHO as a generic figure works for this poll.
  6. You got it. If it's Leaman it's a clear Terry hire. He's all about amateur hockey development in the U.S. Unfortunately, he's brought the a-word the our beloved NHL franchise. If hired, it cements our status as a non-NHL entity. We're not in the ***** league anymore!
  7. I feel like the Indian (sorry, not sure of PC term) in the 1970s pollution PSA.
  8. Leaking the college coach's name was brilliant. Look at the sheeple.
  9. That's not step 2, unless you are comfortable with Kevyn, Terry, Kim and Sydney hiring the next coach.
  10. Wrong. He's not more experienced than Ralph. Terry coached youth hockey in Olean, too.
  11. I feel bad for you if you think Ralph was the problem or this firing fixes anything. There should be no joy. It's like taking drugs, or so I hear. Eventually you need more. And that more? I'm waiting. Not Dahlin, for sure. Or Skinner. Poor guys just couldn't perform with the current coaching staff. All that should change now.
  12. Why so vague? You're suggesting that the NHL was cheating for the Caps. Why would they do that? Not for nothing, that play was the poster child for why video review of penalties exists. A skate clearly came up and cut Lazar, not a stick. It was an egregious call. You don't want close highsticking calls to be reviewed. Was it high? Did it make contact? No one wants the game bogged down like that. That could explain why there might be so few of these situations. (I don't know that there have been few, but a quick Google search didn't turn up much.)
  13. You've got to put some meat on the bone though. What exactly was curious about last night? Why that night of all nights for the NHL to get into shenanigans?
  14. To be clear, that something needs to be a FOR SALE sign on the arena or at the very least a new POHO with the Pegulas' vow to change their ways.
  15. Does Terry interact with his fellow (lol) fans? Has anyone seen him around the arena or talked to him? I sent the man a Christmas card but didn't receive one back the following year. I'm not bitter though.
  16. Something's got to give... this summer. Until then, it hardly matters.
  17. The overall message is OK. But there's stuff that doesn't hold up to scrutiny. I mean, I understand when addressing a wealthy man, you have to utter certain niceties. But, for example, "we" didn't do anything to help him "succeed"? As a taxpayer, I object. At least it didn't start out, "Dear Mr. Pegula."
  18. Dude. Do you really think the league felt the need in a virtually decided game to dust off a replay rule in order to... what? Ensure a MFT wins? The onus is on you. And if it has never happened, so what?
  19. This seems to have the whiff of truthiness.
  20. Skimmed the thread. What I took from it was that some are upset that the NHL followed its procedures to overturn a travesty of a penalty call. Because Chara/Ovechkin/Buffalo or something. And all the other usual stuff.
  21. If only the News were more positive.
  22. I'll ask again. My recent FBI profiler comment wasn't a joke. Do the Sabres consider psychological makeup when acquiring players? Who will thrive on a crummy team with a current losing culture and a recent history of failure with dimwit owners, an unqualified GM and an outside the box coach in a small Rust Belt city with three months of nice weather? Find those guys. I think Cozens might be one of them. In other words, why on earth did they think Staal and Hall would be good fits. Their performances were all too predictable.
