There are some master politicians on this board. Don't y'all know your comments just days ago are still easily accessible? I mean, own them. Stop being weasels. -

Got home. Tried to cast Flames at Sabres from the MSG Plus app. Rangers game came on. Tech support was no help. Watched the HL package on YouTube. Looked good on my useless new TV. Seemed to know how it was going to turn out. Ate a bowl of chili and seven Oreos. I hate Oreos. -

Well Bob either had his own early Internet Sabres site or wrote for The Sabres Edge. His daughter Becky also wrote for the site. I believe she was in HS or college. @Bob Lamb?

Don Granato the Worm Tongue and the Culture of Losing
PASabreFan replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
You can't be tone deaf with the fans. It's good for fans to hear a coach talk like that. Maybe the players know it's a dog and pony show. Sabres fans continue to suffer. Don's demeanor in the face of disappointment is offputting to me. I don't need to be bucked up. Maybe the players do. -

And people will twist other people's posts into what they want them to be. Your initial reply to me was quite the strawman. I wasn't really arguing for the coach to lose his crap. Good point on VO. I also look at the coach's bench demeanor. Does DG really save it all for the lockerroom? -

Well of course. Do you remember a playoff game that didn't feel like a must win? Even up 3-0, the very idea of losing Game 4 is terrifying. I'm just looking for some obvious signs that the sea change we were expecting in Sabres hockey is taking place. Granato's comments are just more of the same. -

I'm at a total loss as to how we go from building on two losses and those losses having the team moving in the right direction to next spring when every single playoff game is a must win. -

It's a fine line. But "moving in the right direction" after two losses is the wrong message if this season is about winning. Narrator: they're not going through a wall. -
“But, yes, it was Game 2. There’s a foundation of some things when you have that many returning players there that you can really start building on more. I thought once our guys start feeling like themselves, it’s exciting as a coach. It’s a sign that we’re moving in the right direction. Based on that, the direction can accelerate at a better pace than it did maybe a year ago.”

I'd keep our glorious alumni away. Don't need our current players to hear all about how they could never win in this city or that. I believe the longtime training, medical, equipment and broadcasting staff infect them enough. Don't you ever wonder why every franchise has at least a few houses of horror?
