  1. Thank you Mr. Egg for the linked article. I purposely waited to post this reply until I had the chance to read it in its entirety. I am enthralled and very enlightened by all the content of that article, which certainly augmented what I thought I knew.
  2. Thank you - sincerely - for the enlightenment as I cannot profess to know everything I think I may.
  3. not sure if this been linked, but a good read on a strange marriage between Vesey & the Rangers: https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/what-we-learned-for-both-sides-veseyrangers-union-is-puzzling-140322160.html
  4. the pronounced uptick in suicidal/homicidal attacks on Western/NATO countries and non-Islam minorities (e.g., Kurds) is not sufficient evidence for you?
  5. I'm fine with your opinion, except it's not as simple of a subject as mere religion; it has become an existential threat, and is getting worse. love the humor PA, that is a good one !!
  6. happy to remove the "slightly" if it will placate, maybe I need to learn what is OT around here and what is not if I need to define the here and there by country it could take a while. Sorry if my description was too general; I thought most readers would understand the macro concept w/o the need for me to delineate by country/region/sect
  7. read and judge for yourself; not trying to gin up noise here, but this just looks dirty....oops, I forgot: politics is/are dirty http://www.judicialwatch.org/press-room/press-releases/new-abedin-emails-reveal-hillary-clinton-state-department-gave-special-access-top-clinton-foundation-donors/
  8. OMG I could not stop balling my eyes out after reading that story.....going through my own personal bereavement now, not human death; the death of my own marriage. Sorry for TMI but I had to post this after doing so on my FB page. Grace, Too ..... may we all receive it. Whatever you believe in.
  9. so I heard an interview on the radio early this AM with Rob O'Neill, former Navy SEAL. Most of you here should know his story. (....and, yes, I'm aware of his controversy with the OBL kill shot) He made a very distinct observation after being asked about the 12 y/o suicide bomber who killed scores in Turkey at the Kurdish wedding. (may God rest their souls). O'Neill's comments: here in the US, we have parents/society teaching their kids about transgender, safe spaces, & micro-aggressions. In the Sharia version of Islam, they are teaching (indoctrinating) their kids to hate the infidel and to glorify/sacrifice these children as they carry out mass killings with detonation of remote controlled suicide vests. Thus (....now my words: here, we (mostly) respect/value human life; there: the grooming & sacrifice of these child warriors is a path to Paradise to be celebrated, with no concomitant value of others' human existence. So I then recalled a song from an album which came out in 1989, the junior year of my college days. The lyrics are chilling now in their applicability to current events. The words do not line up 100% literally as they contain a bit of an agnostic bent; however, please read/listen and judge for yourself: http://lyrics.wikia.com/wiki/The_The:Armageddon_Days_(Are_Here_Again) I welcome any rational discourse, certainly, in response to this OP
  10. utter insanity and a perversion of generally accepted language - now being hijacked by the uber microaggressive
  11. http://www.cnn.com/2016/08/21/entertainment/canada-tragically-hip-singer-gord-downie-concert-trnd/index.html so a bit of my own connection to the Hip; I grew up as a late teen weaned on the Hip through obvious media like CFNY then went away to 4 yr University not far from Cornwall & Kingston. This location offered me great exposure to the then must-have Montreal stations like CHOM, where my diet of the Hip was filled. I then got into the Brit guitar/art/shoegaze rock revolution of The Smiths, Stone Roses, Oasis, Echo & the Bunnymen, Roxy Music, James, Joy Division/New Order, The Housemartins, The The, Slowdive, Ride, Lush, and the Madchester scene. I have a great ongoing collection to The Smiths via Johnny Marr and his solo work if anyone is interested, please PM me. This post, however, is a true homage to Gord & the Hip. Thanks for making my developmental years very memorable. first song ever heard: "Grace, Too" - live from Detroit Cobo Hall.
  12. No, Jonah Hill is nowhere near 60. Really sorry it doesn't float your boat. - to each his own. "Positively horrible"? A bit judgmental?
  13. Haha, it's very rare I pay full fare to see a movie early in the cinema. I gladly paid to see this one. A perfect way for to spend a Friday night after a horrible week.
  14. not always necessarily. Vesey might just be a big city guy and saw a bigger role for himself on the Rags. Think of it a big fish in a little pond and vice versa.
  15. just came out at the cinemas .....
  16. A funny off topic comment.... Just saw War Dogs, based on a true story by the director of the Hangover trilogy. Worth the price of admission in spades. I had a God awful week and needed a funny movie so I just went by myself and I'm glad I did. Highly recommended.... I would pay to see it again, and I rarely go to the movies.
  17. can someone let the ATL know 1) what game 2) what date 3) is there a ducket available for me 4) is it too late to kick in $ 5) am I S.O.L ???
  18. Thank you to you & N Buff for your understanding. Off topic admission here: I have found some incredible inner peace, tranquility, and sense of purpose this week which I did not know I had in me. PM me if you are interested...
  19. and where else can you find Mighty Taco, Jim's, Ted's, Duff's, Gabriel's Gate, and a coterie of other superb Bflo food?
