  1. I don't know what he is watching either. The Sabres are outhitting them 15-9 and while I know stats can be misleading, those don't seem to be. We're surely not being out-hit. The Canes have backed away from two fights already, too.
  2. Overall not a great period for either team. Relatively few scoring chances and not a lot of good ones. Goalies both pretty sharp but not tested. Lot of sloppy play and passes on both sides. No team held the puck in opponents end for any amount of time. I'd say the Sabres had more hits but not sure. The crowd is quiet because nothing is going on.
  3. Ugh. Vanek got boned. Double minor. He deserved the slash but he also got tripped.
  4. Scott got away with a hard check about three seconds after the puck left, then wanted to fight but the Cane (didnt hear who) didnt take the bait. Miller made a couple decent saves.
  5. We have a little more giddy-up but not much. Ehrhoff just had a good shot. But not a hard save.
  6. Crappy fight between Gleason and Ott. Gleason kind of threw him down before it got started, Ott got back up but no good punches thrown.
  7. You're not missing much. Ennis seems to have some wheels. Grigs made one sweet pass to Stafford but a nice save. Myers looks like the bad Myers but hasn't done anything criminal. Canes hit the outside of the net or post about three times.
  8. I was surprised Razor was commending them for not going in and helping Ott.
  9. Nice!! But right before that they were not hustling at all. Hopefully that will perk them up.
  10. That takedown of Sulzer was pretty much the same thing as Myers first penalty, even in the same spot.
  11. Depends on what time period you're talking about and how far you go back. For several years, when they were only the flagship station of the Sabres, all they did was talk hockey, and Bills fans hated it. Then two years ago, they became the Bills station, too. And started talking way, way more Bills than they did before. They had a decent balance between the two. Then they decided to have a full time hockey show with Sylvester during the day, and a full time Bills show at night with John Murphy. But the strike screwed up the hockey talk. Plus, lately with all the changes in the Bills, that is newsworthy stuff that demands more football coverage when it will normally be hockey. Now that both are back, and the major coaching changes are gone, it will likely go back to a decent balance, although both sides will probably compalin.
  12. How could we have not traded Roy for Ott six years ago. ;) Even when Roy was pretty good.
  13. Look at it another way. I truly believe that if I were the owner of the Bills or the Sabres, I wouldn't take too much time away from my GM as far as doing his job. But I would talk to him all the time about the team, what he thinks, who may be available, let him know my thoughts, and then tell him to make his own decision. I genuinely believe that and think it's not a bad thing, as long as the GM was confident in himself and his job security that he didn't make any part of his decision based on fear for his job/to make me happy/to be a sycophant.
  14. And yet you think that you could make better decisions on "on the ice decisions" than Darcy Regier. ;) So why couldn't TP? If he is just giving his opinions and getting information and everyone talking, with darcy making the final decisions I am okay with it. If he is Ralph Wilson ordering Enroth to start ahead of Miller in a playoff game, then you're right, keep the hell away.
  15. I did see that immediately, understood the reference, and just chose to ignore it. ;)
