  1. In the interview this morning Dan said he had never really been focused on climbing the ladder and just did what he needed to do every day and let the pieces fall where they may. Depending upon if you believe the words in an interview, he always comes across as a hockey coach first and his career trajectory is an afterthought.
  2. I didn’t know if you were referring to the traded players or both teams in general. I don’t think you’re going to see anything from anybody other than the players hitting the ice. No one’s taking a run at Taylor Hall or fighting him or any of these other fan wishes.
  3. No. Like 2x more.
  4. If this discussion on FO% is legitimate, Sam could easily up his numbers tremendously in one off-season. Taking face offs does not require some elite gift. It’s just practice.
  5. The Bruins were $29,000 under the salary cap after the trade. It was imperative the shed additional salary to make the deal work. I think they agreed to take a kid who has a higher upside but was locked in behind more established players.
  6. Exactly. There’s a whole slew of examples. Even Eric Staal scored when he went to Montreal. He’s a nothing burger again now.
  7. This may rate 100 for the fans, but I bet it rates a flat zero for former teammates. Traded players seem to be amazing the first time they step on the ice with their new teams, before falling into whatever groove they get themselves in.
  8. I don’t think this is the right take. I don’t know what’s in the owners heads, but from that press conference announcing Adams it was clear they were imposing some level of austerity and hitting the reset button for this coming fanless year. Confounding that was the signing of Hall. I don’t know how to reconcile the two, but I don’t believe the owners made all those cuts because they thought that was just fine. I think they took drastic measures to save money in a super weird year and the organization will go back to normal staffing levels moving forward.
  9. I thought you had questions if Adams was even concerned about the position in the first place.
  10. Does that ease your concern about Adam’s position on goalies?
  11. I don’t get a warm and fuzzy about most people, but rarely would I just drop an FU on them.
  12. So doing the right thing is now just what suits the beholder best? If the Sabres wanted a limited NMC then that’s what they should’ve negotiated. There was no need to use the word allowed. I don’t believe in conspiracy theories and I don’t seek to bend reality to fit preconceive notions. I think Taylor Hall tried here and failed spectacularly in a spectacularly awful environment. If I was a passenger on the titanic, the least of my worries would be the well done steak. His cup of coffee here was meaningless. I’m certainly not mad at him for exercising his agreed-upon rates. I will also not be mad if we try somewhere else and finds success. I don’t follow. Explain it to me like I’m five. I don’t have a warm and fuzzy toward him either. That statement is a long way off from what you previously said.
  13. Why? Why do you think he was obligated to do something he didn’t want to do and took steps to make sure he didn’t have to do it?
  14. Being incorrect doesn’t mean you should start building out cheap shots.
  15. I’m guessing from your part in the conversation that you didn’t listen to one word of the press conference.
  16. And how long are you going to stick with top line Skinner this time when he doesn’t produce for another year?
  17. You are concerned that other teams are going to get better with rental players? does this keep you up at night?
  18. Lol. Please explain how trading an $8M rental player with a full NMC results in an embarrassing trade.
  19. The quote was cut short. His final words were “next week” when they play each other. Assuming he has a modicum of social skills, that’s something that someone would say in jest. Peters also dropped all the nice things he said about the team prior to the quote.
  20. Right on. there’s talking and then there’s declaring definitively that something happened and then casting aspirations upon people based upon stuff that’s going on in your own head. I don’t know. I don’t think that’s the right way. It was a mischaracterization from the full quote.
  21. The second deal was critical goes after both deals Boston was only $29,000 under the cap. Something additional had to be done.
  22. I think you’ve said this before, but why don’t you just go explain to us what this means.
  23. I guess it depends what the definition of is is. I don’t know the exact conversation and I can only paraphrase what Adams paraphrased, but he said he approached him weeks earlier to get his thoughts on being moved and Taylor said he would be open to something. I don’t know the exact wording them how that all went down. My interpretation of what Adams said is that there were a couple of teams interested, not many, and Taylor said where he would be willing to accept. I think there’s a whole bunch of people here missing the spirit of the NMC. Maybe as a former player Adams give this undo respect, but I see this as this is in your contract and I’m not going to be a dick to you about it.
  24. Why? He said anything serious that occurred happened yesterday and then he took it to Taylor and Taylor told him what he was willing to accept. He said Taylor decided yesterday that is where he was willing to go after telling him weeks earlier he’d be open to something. I don’t see what’s so nefarious about this.
