  1. Past hour
  2. Well you may be correct, I would say if he takes positive steps this year ( and that would mean a playoff appearance I would bet he is back... if we stagnate or get worse... who knows he still could be back... I dont get Pegula... but I would say that would be a tough one for him to swallow... but honestly, I dont know if he is on the hot seat... cause I dont know what is in Pegula's brain... I just dont..
  3. Absolutely it is.
  4. I imagine TP’s daughter is getting an earful of “you need a better face to the franchise” at the governors meeting. This could justify kicking KA up to a behind the scenes role (POHO?) and promoting Jarmo to GM and new face to the public. A strong off season could facilitate that.
  5. Sorry, .88 at 23. Was only using “point a game” because it was often the term of choice leading into the deal. 70+ points. Call it the “Josh Norris” points per game pace And he’s actually not very good. Didn’t I say it already? Masterclass You should post about these things before! Not just after the fact depending on the result. People may learn from you
  6. And I don't think he'll be playing with a better talent in Utah than Tage?? Combine that with historically high 14% shooting percentage and.......
  7. This is why i don’t really agree with the Adams hot seat stuff. He’s probably been allotted a mere half the amount of time he needs to right this
  8. Great, except Peterka has never been a point per game winger. Not over his career (0.63), not over last season (0.88), not the season before (0.61). The closest he got in one season was last year's 0.88, but if he plays 82 games over an 82 game season that still causes him to come up 10 short. Now, will he BECOME a point per game winger on Utah? Maybe, Maybe not. But on the Sabres, he isn't, and never has been one....even last year with the most Powerplay ice time on the team among forwards and lots of time on the first line, 18+ minutes per game.
  9. Then our views totally coincide... because a blockbuster with a major player is probably a heavy lift... we need more than one player.. and more than one player is needed to turn this ship... consistent positive steps forward to improvement is the only way to establish credibility... you cannot fake time... nor consistency... getting Ekblad or Mariner doesnt magically rescue all that is wrong... So, I mean if a deal is there big time to help do it... but your problems are not solved with one pen stroke... it took a long time to get into this mess its gonna take effort to get out.
  10. It would certainly be, that’s a great catch. But here’s what you’ve missed: last I checked the sabres have improved year over year under Adams tenure you can correct me on that if I am mistaken
  11. Peterka wanted out. Given that fact pretty much any return is a +, not sure how we can construe it any other way. In that sense the return is found money. when you are trying to recover from the chasm a guy like Botterill left us in, it takes time. Can’t remember who the poster was but someone mentioned when you look at teams like Florida etc it can sometimes take even as long as 10 years or so to rebuild that and get yourself out of that hole. Some players like Peterka who don’t have the maturity to wait are going to be to the casualty
  12. Time will tell. A day gave time to research the two new guys and realize that the "off the ice" Peterka maybe wasn't as good as the "on the ice" Peterka. Tage certainly gave the thumbs up to the guys to Adams - Character sometimes trumps talent.
  13. Ah so Peterka was likely to hold out That’s what I’ve heard too Nah
  14. Yep - It took Dahlin quite a long time to figure things out too
  15. Isn't that almost the exact definition of Stockholm Syndrome?
  16. We traded a point a game winger for depth pieces, the reaction is overwhelmingly positive, and you STILL think we are selling the return short? Masterclass; potentially
  17. Where's Rust playing? If he was a LWer he'd at least be a fit. An old RWer with inflated stats cuz he played with Sid, but still managed to be -22 = pass. Tard Byram for him and we still have holes at #1 LD, #1 RW, Goalie. Holding onto Byram, at least we have #1LD filled. Trades that create more holes = not good Kulich is your 2C, McLeod is a fine 3C
  18. Tavares signs a 4 year 4.38 Million Dollar AAV extension with Toronto
  19. Again a problem with Adams. His weaknesses are systemic, he signs and stands with his players to a hilt (see Samuelsson). How offended he got during the presser over some imaginary contemplation of our ability to buy him out at a microcosm of the total cap hit.
  20. Correct on both counts and I think, also, folks forget that Power is still 22.
  21. Been saying the same thing but we are in the minority. I also don't understand the idea of McLeod as 2C, Norris as 1C. Why, so we can complain about missing the playoffs again? Then there's the unwillingness to trade certain prospects because what we think they might become someday at an unknown point in the future. It's like we want to get better but don't want to pay the price of getting better because we are worried about the future when we don't even have a present.
  22. What a change a day makes. Today, arguing Peterka is a good player makes your opposition the entire board. Yesterday we wouldn’t deal him for less than a star. What a world
  23. And JJ's expected goals against and high danger?
  24. Penguins need a LD and we need veteran leadership. A Stanley cup winner on a cheap contract is a fit to me.
  25. Maybe, but, Adams has done a disservice to Power with whom he's partnered him with. I don't like the fact Power is a giant with no physicality but he deserves to reserve judgment until he's played with a solid partner for a while.
