  2. It is Native American Heritage Night and allowing Fanatics to display their logo on the front of the jersey is poopy, but these jerseys are awesome.
  3. That's my point. @GASabresIUFAN was arguing 32 teams/32 goalies which is not reality.
  4. 60 NHL goalies have played 5 or more games so far this season. Lyon was 17th on that list.
  5. Kind of funny. Dennis Gilbert signed in Buffalo last year and then got traded to Ottawa in the Cozens deal. Last offseason, Gilbert left in free agency to sign with Philadelphia. Today, Gilbert gets traded to Ottawa again just two months into this season. Ottawa cannot quit Dennis Gilbert. The list of teams trading for the same player in consecutive seasons has to be pretty low.
  6. GAA is not a goaltending statistic. If goalie A sees 40 shots a game and has a 3gaa and goalie B sees 25 shots a game and has a 3gaa, they are the same? No. I went and looked and you wrong. There are 34 goalies that have played 10+ games.
  7. Really, then why are their 32 goalies from 32 different teams that have started 10 or more games for their teams this season? Lyon with 24th on that list is GAA.
  8. That is not and has not been how the NHL has worked in like 20 years or more.
  9. More like 17th out of 64 because it includes backups. Not that bad now is it? You're also ignoring he's 5th best among goalies playing 12+ games.
  10. It's nice to know we're not alone in the hole Even if they're relatively new neighbors and we're the stalwart of suck 😃
  11. Are you saying the 17th best goalie in the NHL, a league with 32 teams, is above average? The interesting math. What about the other 35+ games Lyon won’t play? Ellis is 40th in save % in goalies with 3 or more starts and UPL is 52nd. Remember Lyon has never played more than 44 games in an NHL season. I get that you’re happy with Lyon YTD. All Sabres fans are happy that he has been better than the parade of terrible since Ullmark left town, but at 3+ goals a game this still isn’t playoff caliber goaltending. He is giving us exactly what he gave Det two years ago. That team nearly made the playoffs, but only because they scored 278 goals (3.4 goals for per game). The Sabres are averaging 2.8. Scoring 2.8 and allowing 3+ is not a recipe for success.
  12. Back not back... here sweden... I am just happy she is doing well this was so tragic.
  13. I hear ya I used to enjoy TBD gameday chats But, that was BEFORE they became relevant again Now, it's a cesspool of newbie trash with borderline-brain-damaged "hot takes" with some old friends scattered among the muck For all of the "good" that social media provides, in the tradition of the human experience, once something becomes territory of the masses, it starts to suck
  14. If not now soon... lol
  15. Woefully is being nice about it IMO It's neglect to a, contact CPS for potential abuse, level
  16. First, someone will give him a front loaded contract and the real money value of even a $13M front loaded deal will probably cover most, if not all of the loss total dollars. Second, he can sign with someone in a no tax state. Third, like you said, if he keeps up his level of play he will be able to make up for”total value” if that’s really a concern. If his play falls off so that he doesn’t warrant a new contract, the flip side is that Buffalo would likely buy out the last couple of years. That’s why everyone with leverage wants the money front loaded, to protect against buy out.
  17. Johnson is a Cale Klague level player. 8th dman. he was never a star in 4 years of college. not a star in AHL. We should have taken the draft pick compensation instead of sign him.
  18. Today
  19. Are inflatable palm trees still a thing at game? Asking for a friend. 🤣
  20. Okay. Any way you slice it the stats say Lyon is above average. Now look at the teams those better goalies play on. Colorado? Winnipeg? Las Vegas?
  21. You are far more knowledgeable about the players in Rochester. So, I will defer in Rochester player rankings. But what I can say is that when he has played in Buffalo I didn't see him as a liability. I thought he was a good lower pairing puck moving defenseman who played within his talents.
  22. He's 19th if you do 3gp or more. He's 17th if you do 5gp or more.
  23. I think you are expecting too much offensive production from Johnson. As you correctly describe, he is a good skater and can carry the puck out of the zone. But offensively he is not going to match Byram and Power from a point production standpoint. Johnson is who he is as a player. Expecting more beyond his boundary of talents is a recipe for having a negative view of his play. In my mind, I see him as a solid third or fourth pairing blueliner who is smart enough to play within his limitations. I like him.
