Bandits '25-'26 - Will the 4th Time Also Be the Charm

Saw that Dhane goal while waiting for the Sabres game to start. What an incredible power move that was! -

Probably meant to but couldn’t find his way to the KBC. Forgot the directions. -
Given the condition of the OL and an expected sloppy playing surface we may see some personnel groupings today that would make George Halas proud.

I am just a dumb concrete and steel guy, but all the smart folks with actual nuclear degrees tell me that the "next generation" of nuclear power (both the Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and true Gen IV reactors) are more efficient in terms of how much of the heat from the reaction is captured and converted into power and the amount of power that is generated per unit of waste. Several of the companies out there that a vying to build the next wave of plants are even developing advanced and novel fuels. @Demoted - what you mentioned definitely makes me feel conflicted. On one hand, developing cleaner and safer technologies to provide power for the future is very exciting, but as you mention the need is primarily driven by AI and data centers which are, of course, disproportionately affecting areas that are primarily persons of color, the poor and poorly educated, or both. I feel a little better when I think that if not for new power, those disadvantaged communities may actually lose access to power because the politicians will certainly cater to "Mega Corp" instead of their actual constituents.

Sucks they lost Fraser and Cloutier but nice to see familiar faces Ryan Benesch and Mitch De Snoo back with them... This team is still a wagon... 3 straight championships and 5 straight Finals appearances is quite the run they have had so far... -

Malenstyn Krebs Dunne. Great chemistry. Puck hounds. Like to get dirty in the corners and the wall, love playing around the paint. Best 4th line combo this season. Great example to our top three lines. -
I just wish the Bills had an excellent blocking TE they could use to give Allen extra protection.

These AI facilities have already destroyed communities in the south. As long as those communities are black or low educated they are OK with destroying them. Greed is great 👍

So CHAT GPT: How to rebuild the Sabres
OrangeSeatVertigo replied to Spoonman's topic in The Aud Club
But with the top 100 players in the league having included the Sabres on their contractual "no trade" list, I don't see how any "top 4" or "top 6" player comes to WNY. The top 20 or so "destination" franchises will be trading players amongst themselves going forward, IMHO. I don't see how the least attractive franchises (w/Sabres at the bottom) get significantly better. -
Bizaar stat is as of this AM, 18 out of 32 teams are at even/zero or negative goal differential. Just an odd stat I noticed.

I'll take Ellis with those numbers that are heavily influenced by one Really bad game but a bunch of good games... Rather than somebody else who has similar numbers but it's nothing but a bunch of mediocrity. When evaluating a goaltender, I would much rather look at what percentage of their games are they even or positive on the goals allowed versus expected goals allowed... Rather than raw numbers averaged together. -
Both starting OT's missing today. Please don't get Allen killed.

Stole one. 2 incredibly fortunate goals in regulation. 4th line was our best line. Our top 3 lines cannot finish. Wild had a bunch of chances they couldn't convert. Ellis made some great saves. -
First, keep Sabrespace AI free, then the world.

(Puts on dinosaur costume) I don’t have an issue with Meier’s hit. I’d like to see the Sabres throw more chicken wings out there. I do have an issue with the lack of response. If your teammate is down and bleeding, you jump the guy. Even if you take a licking. -
That's not what I am talking about

I'd want to see detailed stats on high danger chances, breakaways, actual saves above expected and all that other stuff. As @pastajoe said he passes the eye test and just looks more in control of the net with calm sound positioning. But if you want to make the argument they are all the same then you keep the two younger ones.

Straight Talk: 1st Line: what do Sabres really have on this roster?
SABRES 0311 replied to Spoonman's topic in The Aud Club
Sabres have only two established top six forwards, three counting Norris. Need at least one more. Preferably a playmaker. Need to replace Tuch who I think will leave. Need a more reliable 2C since Norris has injury issues. So yeah, we only have TT that is a true reliable top six forward. -

I disagree. I think intent is there because players know exactly where their appendages are. Sammy did not skate into his elbow so much as Timo made a calculated decision that to drive through "high" would result in a low chance of a penalty being called. "We" provide the benefit of the doubt, but then we read stories about how professionals understand the "minutia" and I think that applies here. Glad he's okay.. strange routing for him, but he has been very good. Even if he did get the proverbial officiating finger tonight on the penalty called against him. -
Hold. Whether it should or should not be, the growth of power needs in the US because of AI processing necessitates the cheapest power available and nuclear is currently that power. There are a few states who are very nuclear power friendly and it's no surprise they are seeing unprecedented growth because of their cheap power costs. Power generations continues to suffer a negative consequence, regardless of the medium. It's just a byproduct of our evolution. We need to understand how the most efficient way to harness energy resources. We haven't done it yet.

Drinking trumps common sense. The NHL does not have that benefit.. and here we are.

It's these moments that cement the best stories. There's no great play by Palmieri here. He's a forgotten man but on his way to the end of his career he makes what likely becomes his career defining play. I love it because while it's a once in a lifetime moment, he made it happen. I hate it because I don't like seeing players end their careers on injuries. I'd love to think he'll be back but he's pushing the age. He's 34 (I had to look it up). I wish him the best, but if this was his moment.. damn what a moment. He's from Smithtown, NY. It's Lon Gisland... but I'll throw him some love for this moment only. 🙂
