In no way shape or form does Jason Pominville resemble Derek Plante. Maybe you guys are looking at the hair or something but I'll break down the differences. Derek Plante: Slight Build Jason Pominville: Medium, wiry build DP: Softest player of his generation JP: Actually has thrown several body checks DP: Passive, evasive if need be JP: fiesty, will take bad penalty in retaliation DP: Still looks 15, well into his 30's JP: White man fro, chicks dig it, just ask his swedish supermodel girlfriend As far as hands, skating and shooting ability. They are both good but I feel like we are just seeing the tip of iceberg with JP. DP topped out at 25 goals, 55 points. Not terrible, but soft and turnover prone.
