That's my point. @GASabresIUFAN was arguing 32 teams/32 goalies which is not reality.

Let's just say Terry fires Adams but all he does is make Jarmo GM, move Ruff to Senior Advisor and name Appert head coach, well then the Titanic is likely still heading straight for the iceberg. 

I think if Lindy and Jarmo both move up that means they've moved away from the Appert plan.

There's a 50% chance that they go to Forton, and that almost guarantees Appert.

I went and looked and you wrong. There are 34 goalies that have played 10+ games. 

Lets look at how bad of an argument this GAA thing is. You are bemoaning that Lyon is 24th on the GAA list... okay fine. He's got a .907sv% which let us compare to all the goalies with better GAA and see which have worse sv%

#9, Akira Schmid at 2.5gaa but 0.900sv%

#11, Sergei Bobrovski at 2.63gaa but 0.893sv%

FINALLY at #26 we have Alex Lyon with a 3.07gaa but a 0.907sv% which means that out of allllllll the goalies with 10 or more games played, if you sort by GAA Lyon comes in at 26 and he only has a better save percentage than 17 of the guys above him in gaa. He ranks 9th in sv% by goalies with 10+ games played. But I should want 0.891sv% Stuart Skinner because his gaa is only 2.77, that doesn't make any sense. Goals against average tells us how many goals a team gives up, save percentage tells us how many shots a goalie saved.

You keep telling us Lyon is good while ignoring the terrible play of our others goalies.  The Sabres overall goaltending even with Lyon is below average.  Lyon is maybe going to play 45-50 games and Ellis and UPL haven't shown they are good enough.  Even if Lyon keeps up his 3+ GA play, that still isn't good enough for a team scoring 2.8.  

We need stellar goaltending to make the playoffs.  Lyon is giving us average goaltending at best.  His 3-5-3 record shows that we are still struggling to win even with him playing "well."  

I've also shown you that the defense is actually improved year over year statistically and the goaltenders, despite less SCA and HDCA and the No 1 PK, are still near the bottom of the league in GA off any SC or HDCA.  They simply aren't good enough to elevate this lousy team into contention.  It's going to take more than improved defense to help our goalies including Lyon.

How can I take your argument seriously? You are declaring Ellis no good after 2 starts? You also switch between goals against average and save percentage depending which stat looks worse to make your case.
