Yes and the reason you don’t hire a housekeeper is because you care too much about then cleanliness of your house

check your logic at the door all ye who enter this thread

Terry has a housekeeper.  He also owns you.

No I comment about a team I hate because the board is the best and most enjoyable part about it

that it pisses you off so much is just an added bonus

I'm laughing at you.

I like the diagnosing of it not being about winning when I was screaming it 5 years ago lo

Yeah, we all saw it. The day of the PowerPoint.

But then we don't like it when we do because it's too early, etc..  IMO, we do a good job of keeping our own.  Problem is our fans complain about our own, them love them the second they leave.  A lot of us will say anything to dog the team.

Jack wanted out. Reinhart wanted out. Ullmark wanted out. Montour wanted out. JJP wanted out.

If I say something that is inaccurate, then disputing my comments is warranted. However, when someone says something that is factual, then resorting to the tired argument that you won’t be happy until you drive the owner to moving the franchise is a lame position to take.

But yet he is the opposite with the Bills.  His problems with the Sabres stem from these things:

1.   He thinks he knows the game

2.  He gets infatuated with people he knows and likes

3.  He does not fit into or trust the NHL establishment and feels they led him astray.

Just curious, are you retired yet?

The NHL establishment didn't lead him astray. As you point out, I'm sure he solicited opinions on who would be good candidates to staff his franchise. And I'm sure that a number of candidate suggestions were offered. But he was the one who made the selection/s. The problem is the manner in which he has structured the organization so that he would have a decisive say (maybe less so now) is what has weighed this franchise down. What has crippled this franchise is covered by your first two points: 1.) He thinks he knows the game and 2.) He gets infatuated with people he knows and likes. KA is an example of that last point.

I'm disputing that you can drive the owner to doing anything.

I think Jack wanted out but he did sign a long term extension.  Sam and Ullmark, I'm not sure it's a fact they wanted out.  Montour, haha, oh no not Montour.

I know that I can’t drive the owner out. That doesn’t mean that it can’t be pointed out that as an owner he is a dismal failure. Are the complaints repetitious? Absolutely so. And the reason is that his foolishness has been going on for a generation. His extended record is his record. And that in itself is an absurdity.

How is it naive to say that the mission of the franchise is to win a championship?

What was and remains naive is Terry's belief that he can be the POHO of achieving that mission without hiring good hockey people and letting them decide how best to do it.

On second thought, scratch the "remains." It pretty clearly is no longer the mission of the franchise.

I don't think saying your organizational mission is to win championships is naive.  In fact, it is a necessary component to winning.  The Bills have that mission statement as well.

His methods to do so were extremely naive.   The worse false bravado from Terry was the "drill a well" comment.  Most of us can see that he cares more about expenses than winning hockey games right now.   Hope that changes at some point.

I just don't see this team winning with Adams at the helm.   Reaching the 7/8 seed in the conference is not a huge accomplishment but something we could celebrate.

I can't believe there's anyone left defending Terry Pegula. It doesn't add up!

On the off chance I am included in anybody's "anyone" the defends TPegs - my point with the financial data is that it is total BS if he is crying poor to be cheap with the Sabres. They are cashflow positive even with this putrid product of the last several years.

The ultimate goal of winning the cup isn’t naive, but acting like you don’t have to achieve a multitude of smaller building blocks of success in the immediate term, first, is utter hubris. The sabres have sacrificed the now with the goal of a dynasty. Which is backwards - they’ve always needed to prioritize and achieve success in the now so as to facilitate the future they want

They’ve literally ingrained the idea that “this season was never about winning anyway” - they’ve made that the standard.
