Once the left controls everything we'll just be getting bent over by a different form of dictator. The belief that the left is somehow the "good guy" indicates just as much brainwashing as the people you are throwing shade at. I am talking about the people still supporting him. I understand why they did b.c the democrats were an absolute mess of a party. There is no good side. Edited September 18 by Demoted
K-9 Posted September 19 Author Report Posted September 19 I’m sure his maga defenders will say it’s just Trump being Trump. Well, phuck that! Trump being Trump, fascists being fascists, and maga just excusing it IS THE DAMN PROBLEM! IF YOU DONT THINK EXACTLY LIKE I DO YOU'RE A FASCIST AND NAZI SUPPORTER!!! Center leaning democrats have been hearing that garbage for the last decade and they're tired of it. It's people like you constantly screeching FASCIST and NAZI that drove our own people to put Trump in office. It's people like you attacking our own for not reflexively hating anything and everything Trump does that is the problem. Case in point, I've frequently expressed views and opinions that are aligned with yours, we are not very different politically. But, because I sometimes share things I find interesting and relevant, without offering any endorsement or approval of the content, you like to label me as MAGA. I'm not MAGA, and I take offense to it. You, K-9, are the problem. Find some self awareness and try being part of the solution. 1 1

K-9 Posted September 22 Author Report Posted September 22 Nope. Can’t have bribery probes of your border czar, now can we. Go after political enemies for no reason, but gotta shut down any probe with legitimate aims. https://apple.news/AeNEuSf91SoeDp3GM3KQ9jw
K-9 Posted September 24 Author Report Posted September 24 Free press having to sign a “pledge.” More MAGA absurdity. https://thehill.com/policy/defense/5515829-pentagon-press-restrictions-criticism/
K-9 Posted September 24 Author Report Posted September 24 I attempted to clarify something for the MAGA brethren in another thread but the topic was shut down so I thought I’d clarify it here. Some in this forum seem to think that when I compare this administration to fascist regimes that I am making the comparison to the NAZI party and the NAZI party only. That is simply not the case. Perhaps it’s because I frequently cite Goebbels’s propaganda tactics? That is only because Goebbels is a readily recognized player in fascist history. There are others that I’ve studied over the years and they are all similar in their ideologies and tactics, especially where propaganda, the muzzling of the free press, and the control over mass dissemination of information over airwaves are concerned. I urge people to broaden their knowledge base and study the fascist regimes of Franco and Mussolini as well. Both had well funded and powerful ministries of propaganda in Spain and Italy, respectively. Both had politically astute and charismatic men heading up their respective propaganda efforts: Ramon Serano Suner in Spain was one of Franco’s Ministers of Press and Propaganda. Italy had guys like Galazzo Ciano and Alessandro Pavolini. You can bet the framers of the Project 2025 manifesto havE studied past fascist regimes. Far be it from me to convince MAGA to stop whistling past the graveyard and renounce anything this administration does or how they do it. But nothing informs like history and that’s all I’m doing; informing.

Speaking for only myself, the reason I dismiss many things as hyperbolic fear mongering is we all know that Trump has an expiration date. Whatever he does can, and will, be undone by the next democratic president. Only when elections are canceled will i take any of it seriously.

The question is... are you actually willing to sit around until that happens or try to stop it before it happens? 1

Do you have a honest suggestion on how to stop it before it happens? I don't believe the half dozen or so that post here snarking at each other will have an impact.

Perhaps not snarking at each other is the first step to improving how we treat each other, especially those with a different view. You willingly say you don't take it seriously, then why antagonize others? Why participate in the escalation of hyperbole? Perhaps if people spent less time arguing with each other and more time understanding the lying that is engaged on by both sides it would help. For example: Protect the Constitutional freedoms is something both sides have raised up. However, then they argue which freedoms should be protected. First Amendment - freedom of speech - "YAY" Left wing, "BOO" Right wing. Second Amendment - freedom to arm oneself - "YAY Right Wing, "BOO" Left wing. It just boggles the mind how it's so obvious that the argument is not protect our freedoms, it's protect what "I believe" and not what "you believe".

That’s just it: there can be no arguing which freedoms to protect. The Constitution makes that very clear. The old saying sums it up: I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend your right to say it. That holds true for the entire document. We are a nation with collective amnesia.
K-9 Posted 1 hour ago Author Report Posted 1 hour ago I’ll add that Trump is a racist pig to the list of his shortcomings.
