Poll: What Do You Do with a Number Like Nine?

30 members have voted

  1. 1. Which would you do?

    • Make the pick and let the kid marinate for two years. Best Player Available!
    • Trade up. Package the 9 with something and get up to 4th-7th or so. Go hunting.

    • Trade back. Move down to 13th-15th and nab an extra 2nd for more moves later. "Pull the Helenius."

    • Include #9 directly in a trade for that elusive top-4 RHD for Power
    • Include #9 directly in a trade for a top-6 forward/center
    • Number 9. Number 9. Hold that line. Block that kick.

Should trade it for a top 4 rhd. This team has awful defense outside Dahlin.

Yup -- I think that is the toppermost priority (with goalie variance from year-to-year).

I voted to make the pick because I believe if they're dead set on moving Byram then he can attain the RHD without also adding in #9. (If you were to package Byram+9 you'd better be getting... McAvoy/equivalent + a pick in return, and that'd be silly from an opposition perspective.)

Was listening to the Barenaked Ladies children's album (Snack Time) recently and I think the answer is there.

The Sabres won't have the pick. 9 will be GONE.

You know why? Because 7-8-9.

Trade this pick.  It doesn't have to be for a defenseman (although that is preferable).  But trade it.  The Sabres don't need roster help for 2029.
