9-3 Final...

Vancouver ain't ready for this buzzsaw that are the Bandits in the playoffs. Only goals they scored were on the power play, they did not have a single even strength goal. That's absurd.

Vinc with 35 saves.

Vancouver got dominated tonight. Playoffs are a different animal and facing the 2 time defending champs and a team that's been to 4 straight NLL finals shows the disparity between a team that knows how to win big games and a team that doesn't.

And the Bandits DID bring their A game.  AND the Warriors cracked under the pressure of trailing in a game for the 1st time for more than 4 minutes in 2 months.

Having Belter back in the lineup has been a huge add this playoffs too.  He and Weiss were both out of the lineup the 1st time the Bandits hosted them in the 1 goal loss.

Cloutier also back tonight as well.

Need to get to one of these next games.  May not be the most prominent or commercialized sports out there but goddam it's electric when you're in that arena for the Bandits.  Awesome to attend a game at that arena and see my 10 y.o. amped for a change.

I don't get to watch many Bandit games. But last year, I watched a playoff game with a full house of raucous fans. As you aptly described the scene, just watching it on TV I felt the electricity in the arena.

If the owner can get his hockey house in order, I'm confident that the Sabres would also be able to replicate the same enthusiasm, if not more. Although our fanbase has become cynical about the franchise and has substantially shrunk due to a generation of failure, I'm confident that it can quickly come back and get behind this team. This is going to be a critical offseason for the Sabres as to whether the organization demonstrates a seriousness about restoring the lost faith in this faded franchise. I really hope so. Being negative is depleting.

PSA Reminder:

Bandits go for the 2 game sweep in Vancouver tonight at 9PM Eastern.  ESPN+ will carry it in the States.  TSN/TSN+ will carry it in Canada.

Saskatchawan killed Halifax in Halifax yesterday 15-7 (maybe 16-7, lost track of the score with all the idiotic penalties the Mad Dog 2020's kept taking at the end of the game.  The Rush had at least 3 penalty shots at the end as Halifax insisted on taking more penalties after they already were 2 men down.

A win on Friday night or Sunday night and they'll face the winner of the Bandits series.

A win tonight gives the Bandits a week off to get even healthier waiting for the winner of the other series.

Tied at 2 after the first quarter. Bandits jumped out to a 2-0 lead early, Vancouver tied it up with two goals later in the period...

McKay on a tear with another goal, now has 7 in 3 playoff games

Posted (edited)

McKay is just on fire in the playoffs with another hat trick and added an assist trick as well to finish with 6 points in the game to lead the Bandits...

Now has 9 goals in 3 games...

They called Chase Fraser a sicko for that one on TSN and were like "are you kidding me?? We waited til this point in the game of the semi-finals to see the goal of the year??"

And then shortly thereafter Vinc had probably the save of the season.  Vancouver worked a great back door play and Vinc found a way to get his stick onto the shot towards the nearly empty net.

Bandits host the Rush on Friday night in Game 1 of the Finals.

Halifax had a 2 goal lead with less than a minute left looking to tie the series at 1-1.  But Saskatchewan scored with about 40 seconds left and got the ball on the faceoff.  Halifax's goalie made the stop with about 16 seconds left.  So, game over, right?  Wrong.  They turned the ball over on a serious stick check trying to get the ball over the midfield stripe just before the 8 second clock expired.  About 5 seconds later the game was tied.

Halifax then took a boarding major 1-1/2 minutes into OT and the Rush only needed 10 seconds to make them pay for that mistake.  Had been hoping the MD 20-20's would win tonight to force the Rush to play an extra game before meeting the Bandits.

Saskatchewan won the last time the 2 teams met in the Finals.  So, pay 'em back for that and get the 3-peat.

Let's GO BAN-DITS!!!!

Believe that was the first of the 5 straight finals they have been in where they lost to the Rush...

Then it was the Mammoth back to back losing the first and winning the second
