Mancari recalled again - Gerbe out?

Mancari recalled on emergency basis. Linky So someone else must be injured right? Gerbe would be the prime candidate. He got his eggs scrambled along the boards late in the last game, looked dazed making his way to the bench, and one of the guys on the bench reached out and dragged him off the ice. The team doctor that sits along their tunnel even came down out of the stands to check him out. Gerbe was escorted back to the dressing room. Haven't heard anything else since.

Good call, I was trying to find something out yesterday but couldn't do so. I would also have to assume that it's Gerbe. It's not all bad news though, at least we know what Mancari can bring up with him. I mean, this is only his fourth recall.

Yeah, he definitely looked concussed to me. And the hit along the boards didn't look like much either.

From the Buffalo News site....

Live from the morning skate in Boston

BOSTON -- It's not a big surprise the Sabres have only one goaltender on the ice for practice, but what is a surprise is which goalie it is.

Patrick Lalime, who missed Wednesday's practice with the flu, is the only one manning a net. Ryan Miller is absent, and Jhonas Enroth is in the back hall riding a bike. Upon conclusion of practice, we'll find out exactly what that means.

It doesn't take a news conference to determine Jochen Hecht is out and Mark Mancari is up from Portland. Hecht had a "maintenance day" Wednesday and is absent again. Mancari is skating with Adam Mair and Raffi Torres. The other lines are Tyler Ennis-Tim Kennedy-Jason Pominville, Nathan Gerbe-Derek Roy-Drew Stafford, and Matt Ellis-Paul Gaustad-Mike Grier.

Well, there goes my assumption out the window! :pirate:

Do you think he'd miss a game because of this:

http://www.versus.com/blogs/nhl/sabres-at-bruins-thursday-at-7-et/

It says he only missed one shift...

That reports a broken nose. Could be, but the article is wrong - he never cam back down the tunnel. Didn't look like a broken nose to me - no blood that I saw, and he skated over to the bench and stood in front of it like he didn't know what to do. Someone literally grabbed him by the front of the jersey and pulled him off the ice. We will see if he is in the lineup tonight. Do the sabres have a full roster right now? Doesn't someone have to be injured in order to use an emergency call up?

I remember him (Gerbe) getting a high stick or something. Rob Ray said "Oh yeah, there's a lot of blood guys" as Gerbe skated off. Busted nose would do that.

I was on the penalty box side so I couldn't see the front of his jersey, but I didn't see any blood hit the ice. The way he acted, I would have sworn his eggs were scrambled.

His eyes were probably watering big time. Hard to skate straight when you can't see.

Andrej -> Rej -> Reggie. That's what they call him.

Wish he went with "dre".

For that matter, I wish all these guys would go by psuedo rap names.

T-Con

lil' Nate

T-Ennis (or tennis)

C-Butts

DJ Goose ya

The Mair

Saws edge (think about it)

Ka-Letta

Hecht is out for the rest of the season with an upper body injury.

Yikes! I was thinking he could be a guy the Sabres could count on to step it up this year in the playoffs. This is starting to get a little Deja Vu with the defense core from '06.

You people need to listen to the player and coach interviews more often; they call him Reggie all the time.

I can get the players and coaches doing that, but when it's talking about players for the game, for someone who would be more of a casual fan(not me) they would have no idea who that is..... unless the player has chosen to go by that league wide, they shouldn't use it for game notes about an upcoming game

Well yes, that would be something. Instead we have to hear names like "Millsie" and "Roysie" and "Timsie" and "Tysie". I don't like that...sounds...I don't know...not that there's anything wrong with that

In my world Directtv cuts Center Ice right after the end of the game. I don't usually get to hear any interviews. I just hear RJ and I don't think he calls him that, but it makes sense that someone would I guess.

I meant regular season, but still, he was doing pretty good out there.

SabresTV on the Sabres website has the interviews up in the morning (usually). GR site may have some audio (with Hamilton breathing heavy in the background) for the away games.

I've enjoyed Mark's stints thus year. Look forward to seeing him again.

I haven't watched him much when he was up, has he started to use his size finally?

As for your Saws Edge, you talkin Sausage? I kinda like DJ DeRoy myself.
