BuffalOhio
I'm not sure what your house looks like but my brother-in-law just bought a $450,00 house in Burke Va and that same house would have cost $125,000-$150,000 in WNY. Yep. I live in a 2200 square foot TOWNHOUSE that I paid $400K for. You can't even find townhouses in the Buffalo area because the housing values are so low there that people just buy detached homes. Still doesn't explain the tax structure in WNY!
apuszczalowski
If it's in Amherst, he's paying around $565,000 a year in property taxes, so he had to pick up something with a lower monthly payment so he can cover the escrow. Half a million a year in taxes? He probably paid that just for the house, not in taxes. I would guess around $5,000-$10,000 would be about right

JoeFerguson
You'll never learn to play guitar if you keep it buried in an airtight case like that. Also, he was playing the intro riff to "Corduroy" by Pearl Jam.
McJeff215
LOL.... I don't know what was funnier, my "500k in taxes" joke, or the fact that the taxes up there are so high that some folks actually thought I may have been being serious. Wow. Joke. I don't believe his taxes are anywhere *near* that. I guess I didn't exaggerate it enough! All of that said... I wish I lived back home!
