Honestly hated how Murray sounded on WGR just now. We're getting a generational player and he sounds like he's about to cry. This is a good time to act like you're thrilled Jack Eichel is coming to town since he can hear these interviews. Go ahead and let the guy you're going to draft know that you're excited he's coming.

Karma has nothing to do with it. If you're the GM of the team, you can't have a head coach that you can't work with. Murray did the right thing. Nolan wasn't his hire and it doesn't sound like they were ever on the same page.

Least surprising news of the year?

McCabe's 2nd concussion of the year yesterday and Pysyk's mystery ailment are limiting our options for trades though. Our depth on D suddenly seems a little thin.

- Drafting first or second. - Our other draft picks. This is supposedly the deepest draft since 2003 and we probably have two more picks between 20 and 31, and then another one later in the 2nd. I'm not in a rush to trade those away. What if we could draft more than one future star this June? - The press conference for McEichel after the draft. - Rookie camp. - Training camp. - Return of Sam Reinhart. - Progress from Risto and Zadorov. - Finding out if Evander Kane can live up to the hype. - Seeing what Bogosian can do with a full season. - Find out if the Johan Larsson from March is the real Johan Larsson. - If Nic Deslauriers can finish in the top ten in hits again next season. - Moulson and Ennis on a team with some talent again. - McEichel

Not bad for a 36 year old, especially when you consider how he started the season and that a concussion slowed him down. I'm looking forward to having him back next year. 2. Anders Lindback has the best GAA of any goaltender that played for us this season. Worth a one-year contract for next season? Or should we focus on a veteran since we still have Makarov and Ullmark is coming to North America next season?

Why not upgrade now? I know Ted Black mentioned the 50th anniversary of the team to introduce a new 3rd jersey but that's a long ways off. Yes, I know the golden anniversary is the perfect time to unveil a gold sweater that doesn't suck (stick to our template!) but we can do all that now. The team should be a lot prettier in the next couple years, let's improve the uniforms to match that. At least drop the armpit blobs.

I wouldn't put it past him either just because Murray has shown a willingness to pay for things, but I wouldn't do it. If we're moving assets this offseason, I'd rather it was to build around Eichel than to upgrade from Eichel to McDavid.
