    Agreed. The quality of the prospect is what's up for negotiation, I guess. We know St. Louis is interested. Washington should be interested; putting Miller on a good team with a legit offense is a scary thought for the rest of the league. (Not to mention any lift he'd get from finally not having to be the no.1 star on his team.)

    I think we're all just looking for some excitement in our hockey lives. Reading between the lines, it sounds like the Sabres have a deal they like but it only goes down if Miller agrees to a contract extension with his new team. Obviously he'd want to think that over. If he plays tonight, I guess the deal is off.

    It makes a ton of sense as a destination for Miller and Washington has a lot to offer. I'd be way more excited about a potential trade with Washington than I would with Los Angeles (regardless of who we're sending).

    What's your rationale for moving him *before* the Olympics being the goal now?

    I still hate the Kings as a trade partner for us. They don't want to give up Toffoli and nothing else they have is a big boost to our system. I'll be happy if we don't make any deals with L.A. this year. Plenty of other teams seem interested in what we have on the table.

    If it's from the Kings, it might as well be 2014. They're probably not going to be a draft lottery team next season (and certainly not one with a great chance at winning).

    Trading a top 3 draft pick (probably top 2 the way things are trending in Edmonton) for Corey Crawford is completely insane.

    Reading that just brought back a lot of bad memories from 8 years ago. Trading him 5 weeks before the deadline is a little odd but sometimes the window of opportunity is short. For example, if they were trying to pull off a 3-team trade, they'd need to make it happen as soon as everything was lined up (before anything changes for one of the teams involved).

    FWIW, he also never mentioned the press conference on Tuesday. Some other poster said that. We'll see.

    I really hope he's right this time too. We could use some excitement.

    Thats the part that makes me think it's BS. I understand waiting until after the Stadium Series game, but Tuesday means waiting after we (and other teams) have a game to play.
