  1. it was a clear kicking motion, my question is this: does it still count as a kick if the puck is then redirected off a stick? on the last replay they showed of the goal (they didn't review very long) I thought the puck, though clearly kicked by Vanek, bounced off the knob of the goalie's stick before crossing the line. not trying to spark controversy just curious what the rule is.
  2. Close enough. Timmy and I celebrate 4:20 at least three or four times a period.
  3. The thing I'd be more concerned about is how the refs didn't call Bobrovsky for covering the puck in the illegal area. When it happened I was standing in my living room shouting at the TV but nobody even said anything about -- including Sabres players who were right there and the ref who skated over and got the puck form Bob -- so I had to assume I had the rule wrong. Finally Versus guys said something about it during intermission. But how can four officials miss THAT call? There's a whole diagram drawn on the ice for comparison and they still botched it.
  4. It was a bad play by Connolly, but that doesn't make it any more or less legitimate. Why would the refs waive it off? Philadelphia's famed reputation of having brutal fans is overrated anyway, but I can assure you that goal counting had nothing to do with the refs being scared for their lives lol
  5. What an idiot. It couldn't possibly be because it was a legitimate goal, could it? No way. Sabres always getting the short end of the stick...
  6. Not being able to clear the puck out of our zone is like, Top 5 for me.
  7. how can a 35 year old MAN who plays in the NHL repeatedly be unable to shoot a 6oz puck more than 15 ft when trying to clear it?
  8. is Grier like 0 for 50 on attempted clears this season?
  9. just realized my whole team is maple leafs so uhh i just updated my trading block.
  10. Personally, I just can't wait to see how well McCormick matches up with Neil.
  11. pretty mad about my trade w/ deluca LOOOL must have been way too baked
  12. I missed most of the argument but I just wanted to throw in my two cents here. I have seen (heard?) HSBC loud. Very loud. I went to Game 2 vs Philly in 2006 and that was probably the loudest I've ever heard the place. Granted it was playoffs. But the thing is in 2005-06, only people who legitimately cared about hockey and the Sabres were going to the game. Hockey still didn't exist to a lot of people. Not to demean any fans but you've got to admit, the # of Sabres "fans" at least tripled after the 06-07 season, and it seems like at that point going to games became more of a family oriented event rather than a fan oriented event. Last season I went to a game against Phoenix and sat second row, close enough to touch the glass (closest I've ever sat) -- some group of old ladies near us in the front row bitched at us for touching and pounding on the glass.\ To me, the arena definitely isn't anywhere near as energetic as it used to be -- most likely because lots of families go together and don't want to go nuts. But that said, it's not like the place is an abandoned warehouse either. It still gets loud and people still cheer, especially in the 300's, but it definitely hasn't been like 2006.
  13. too sick. is that a smirnoff vodka bottle?
  14. believe me when I say... i'll be hitting the pipe early, and often
  15. Roy has been great.. and not just because he has five goals already, but his all around game has been great. He's everywhere and plays with tenacity most of the team sorely lacks. Statistically he will have to cool down at some point but as long as he plays at the level he has been I will be happy with him. It seems he's come a long way from diving and complaining... IDK how his off-the-ice leadership is but he is doing everything right on the ice (well besides not covering Kovalchuk).
  16. I thought he played the pest role pretty good against the Devils.
  17. I've had a cold for almost three days now. Today has been by far the worst. Thank god I got to wake up and watch some hockey promptly at noon (albeit Carolina  ). Can't wait til tomorrow, hope to be feeling better.
  18. well one of you offered me Bieksa and Antropov for Kopitar and the other offered Havlat, Umberger and Hall for Kopitar AND Semin... clearly you guys have underrated Kopitar's worth dramatically. the only player i like on one's offer is Malkin and honestly I didn't get a chance to look at the other yet... sorry i will probably get back to you later tonight
  19. Taking offers for Semin, Eberle, Prospal (injured, idk how long), Kopitar if anybody is interested send offers, i check daily
