  1. I didn't want to say anything because I was all over the refs after the Cinci game, but I pretty much agree. We're talking about the one where Florence stumbled right? Looked to me like he lost his balance, stumbled, and made the most minor of contact with the receiver. The ball was overthrown and I don't think it was catchable regardless. Then there was a 5-6 second delay, receiver complained to ref, and ref threw the flag.
  2. Tough to complain about a 4-2 record but ok, just because we're the Bills losses are acceptable? "Oh it's okay, we're the Bills, at least we're still 4-2!!" ######. They should be 6-0 to be honest. Stupid mistakes and bad play calling cost us today... and we still have no deep threat. Will be interesting to see if the Bills FO grows some balls and adds a receiver before the deadline or if we just truck forward with a limited passing attack and hope Fred Jackson can win us 4-5 more games. Time to prove you want to win, Nix.
  3. Yeah, I never thought I would be saying this, but McKelvin should have been in. And besides the interception Fitz threw towards the end, WHY IS HE THROWING IT TO BEGIN WITH?? WHY do the Bills abandon their run game in the fourth quarter EVERY game??? No reason to take a shot there other than that he saw 1 on 1... then he underthrew the same man on the same route against the same db... so dumb.
  4. Ugh you hate to criticize Fitzpatrick the way he's been playing but how do you throw the SAME interception TWICE? You underthrew it the first time.... MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT. Don't underthrow it again lol.
  5. I got a couple offers on the table for Ovie, just letting you guys know I see them... just gonna wait a little bit and see if I get a few others.
  6. Never understood why PIM counts as a "positive" stat by default on Yahoo.
  7. if anyone has an offer for ovechkin i'm listening (SS Gold). looking for a #1 center or a starting goalie + decent center in exchange
  8. Bills inactives: WR D.Jones, CB A.Williams, CB T.Wheatley, LB S.Merriman, OL D.Bell, LB C.Kelsay, NT K.Williams. David Nelson at WR (for Jones), Chris Hairston at LT (for Bell), Kellen Heard at NT (for K. Willliams), Spencer Johnson at OLB (for Kelsay), Danny Batten at OLB (for Merriman), Drayton Florence at CB (for McKelvin)
  9. They have been playing very well, but like the critics will (and have) tell you, "the Bills are a 4-game losing streak waiting to happen." They've been winning games by the slimmest of margins and have a pretty tough schedule ahead (even though I do think the Bills are better than the whole NFC East.. only team that really worries me is the Redskins ). And while most of that has to do with the defense giving up points, we can't be doing what we did Sunday -- that is, throwing a bunch of screen plays (WR screens,, the HB screen worked very well :D ) and gimmick passes. The Bills went stale in the passing game as soon as Jones went down. Now, I know this was part of the game plan because of the Eagles' all pro DBs, but at some point you have to take shots. It was like we subbed Edwards in for the second half. There were a couple nice passes to Roosevelt (who I REALLY hope does become a star just because it would be an awesome story), but who knows if he's really going to be the answer yet? Dare I say it, but if that game had another 5 minutes left, the Eagles could have stolen it just like the Bengals did. Hell, if not for that bonehead offsides, they still might have. Fitz has proven he can make good decisions and is a pretty good QB, so don't be scared to draw up some passing plays. But at the same time we need to have weapons. Donald Jones was doing OK, not great. I think adding another GOOD (not a "capable" like Jones and Roosevelt, but a legit, proven, GOOD receiver like Wayne or Lloyd or Owens) could go a long ways for our offense. If for no other reason than that defenses have to respect him. It's also worth noting that Stevie hasn't caught a TD in two games now, which isn't "terrible" but it makes me wonder if his groin injury is still lingering? It's been a while now but at the end of the Patriots game he looked to be really struggling.
  10. I heard the Bills were interested but the price was too high... they must be asking a 3rd? I definitely hope they snag one of Wayne/Lloyd
  11. No, I just mean in theory, would you approve or disapprove of the move?
  12. Reggie Wayne is on the trade block, supposedly for a 4th round pick according to Schefter. Nobody wanted TO, what say you about Reggie Wayne?
  13. I suppose it would, but as a spectator you have to wonder how much of that is real. I mean, yeah it's a unique story how so many of them were late round picks and so forth, but does it really change the way they play? That is GREAT personal motivation for a guy like Stevie Johnson to say "nobody thought I could do it and I'm going to prove them wrong." But does that translate into a whole team thing? Is adding one guy who doesn't fit their "underrated 7th rounder" mold really going to make Steve Johnson not try as hard, or something along those lines? The bottom line is they are NFL players and they want to win, it doesn't really matter where they were drafted.. as long as everyone wants to win. I mean Spiller was a first round high-profile pick, though and he hasn't exactly been a staple of the offense, he's averaging 7+ YPC and is a part of this team. He doesn't seem to be throwing anything off balance. It's a good point and one that I can't really argue because I've never played a sport beyond highschool.. but I wouldn't think adding a HOFer like TO (who most of the guys already spent a season with w/ no issues) could hurt unless he is absolutely handicapped by the injury. On the flipside, maybe adding TO actually WOULD fit that mold... because although he's a high profile free agent, he's still one looking for a chance to prove himself. As someone mentioned up thread, nobody has shown much interest in him, the ESPN analysts don't think many teams will want him... you can bet he's in the same boat as the Buffalo Bills trying to prove his own worth, and more importantly WIN.
  14. Some fair points, but let's be honest, that Bills team was probably one the worst he ever played on. He went to Cincinnati and had a pretty damn good year, especially considering he was sharing targets with Ochocinco.. still managed 9 TDs. I just think it can't hurt to try it. It'll be close. TO says he'll be back in a month or less ( closer to 3 weeks now), while Jones is expected out 4-6 weeks. Whether TO is 100% accurate with his self-assessment we can't be sure... and perhaps this recent hospitalization could set that back even further. But there will still be a stretch of 2-4 games without Jones that could make or break the season.. Giants, Skins, Jets, Cowboys... Even with Jones healthy, he's only been so-so... had a couple drops in the Cinci game and has just one TD on the year. I would prefer a HOF talent, find a way to work them both in if you have to.
  15. For one, he has not fully recovered from his injury yet and/or is not back in NFL condition after being out of action all off-season, so no teams have given it much consideration until he can actually report to a team for a tryout or physical. He said last week he would be ready and back in the NFL in less than a month. There are also reports of another overdose on painkillers, but when that blows over, he's going to land somewhere in the NFL.
  16. The Bills have approximately zero deep threats right now besides Stevie, and you can bet he's getting the double coverage all day. he's been less effective the last two weeks, perhaps to a nagging groin/hamstring injury. I mean, I can understand if your concern is with TO coming off an injury and wondering if he can be the same old TO, but in my opinion there's no reason to worry about his "attitude" or whatever. The guys is one of the best WR of our era and really hasn't had any issues since Dallas. I'm not sold on Nelson being any kind of impact player, and though I would love to see Roosevelt turn into a full time player here, I don't know if he's going to be the answer moving forward or not. I would sign TO in a heartbeat. We have a good thing going this year, would be a pity to waste it because Fitz has no one reliable to throw to... Also,
  17. Hey man, we are contenders. We didn't want Lee Evans before the season because we were supposed to be 1-4 at best right now. Suddenly we are in the drivers seat in the AFC East and are growing incredibly thin at receiver... TO was here before and he never raised a stink, hes a HOF talent and presumably still has some gas left in the tank... I say why not? the guy's reputation as a "chemistry killer" is overrated.. he didn't cause any issues in buffalo, then had a GREAT year in cinci, also without any troubles... can't hurt.
  18. Nor can I. I was reading the thread though and this guys name came up a lot.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_N._Gillett_Jr Meets the criteria but I don't know what his intentions would be. Also lots of people had negative things to say about him, I guess he screwed Liverpool FC and a NASCAR team in the past. Lol BuffaloRising gave a definitive NO to the Jeremy Jacobs... also I don't believe you can own two teams in competing markets.
  19. Yup, heard several people on twitter saying this as well... and also some guy (nobody credible) on the Bills boards, who claims it was a former NHL owner that currently does not own a team. Don't know which one to believe, but either way both have said it's not Pegula or Golisano... but still good news I suppose
  20. I think McGee was active on Sunday but did not play. Probably thought he was ready but ended up not being able to go. Maybe next week?
  21. What a crazy game!! This team is awesome. Reminiscent of the 2009 Saints team... not a GREAT defense but so many huge plays by the Bills PLAYMAKERS! It's been a fun ride so far
  22. Ten Fantasy Hockey players you wish you'd drafted: http://www.thesportsbuff.com/?p=1062 Let me know what you guys think :)
  23. That's how I see it. Just saw the replay again on channel 4 news. Un######ingbelievable. I'm glad Stevie went off about the refs.
