  1. You didn’t take my meaning. That’s on me. I should have stopped at “Nah.” There’s something to this.
  2. I was at that rate when I cut the cord 6 or 7 years ago.
  3. An oaf, so sayeth @PASabreFan. I say galoot. Rube works very well.
  4. I know way more about business than I do hockey. Which admittedly isn’t saying much.
  5. Unless Roth and D'Angelo were having a thr-- ... err, never mind.
  6. Ha. As indicated upthread and elsewhere, I have inferred how Terry goes about things. He's always brought in people he knows and likes. There has been no due diligence other than Terry liking the cut of their jib. Call it his Paul Gaustad Principle. If Terry's hired professional executive recruiters, paid them multiple six figures for their services, and gone through an exhaustive workup of any of his c-level candidates (as alluded to above), then I will gladly withdraw my takery here, tip my hat to the man, and wish him better luck next time. But that's not what's been happening.
  7. No one has a crystal ball. But people can have thorough, rigorous hiring processes for c-levels at billion dollar companies.
  8. What’s the due diligence here? Are his c-level hires sitting down for exhaustive personality inventories that are interpreted by experts? Is a private investigator doing a basic workup on them? Or is he just going with his gut?
  9. Sophistry. Terry has by now hired and fired many, many c-level executives. The most recent separations are comical for their timing — these folks were just installed in July. He’s getting bad outcomes. So it’s more than fair and only logical to look at his processes. And they stink out loud. He can and should and must do better.
  10. I fancy myself who keeps up with this stuff, but I think I'm there with you on getting a bit confused by the technology. The matter of whether something will cast (airplay?) from your phone (iPhone?) to your TV is one that confuses me. I get NFL Redzone that will play only on a phone or tablet. When I'm at home, that's where I can see it -- on a phone or tablet only. When I'm at my brother's house, I get an option (shown by an icon on the phone's screen) to cast (airplay?) it to his TV. There must be something in his TV that allows for this. I do not know what it is. As for MSG+, it is, as others have noted, a complete piece of crap. I don't imagine that you'd be able to cast that broadcast from your phone to a TV. Unless perhaps you use an iPhone and you're at my brother's house? J/k - sort of. Until the MSG+ app is available through a Roku, my workaround is going to be to use a tablet.
  11. It's fair. As in, it's fair to say: Hey, East Resources of the 1990s was a small oil and gas operation. If Terry as the president wanted to hire a fresh-faced college grad and fall in love with her (and she him), nbd. No one much cared at the time, presumably. OTOH, the Buffalo Bills of the 2020s are a BIG effing deal - a very public-facing entity. The same standards don't apply. Idk. She seems like a level-headed, serious person. Best I can tell, TBN doesn't even have those anymore. It is Terry's fault because this is his responsibility: To hire people who will do the job, who can do the job, and who can do so in a way that comports with his expectations and, presumably, material covenants in their employment agreement(s). He just keeps pulling people in that he's met along the way. "Y'know who'd be great here? [John / Ron ] from [Fidelity / AdPro ]. I love [John / Ron]! He's been great with our [investments / merchandise branding]. And he already knows how to run multiple business lines. He could learn on the job here." And so on. These are not hiring good practices. It's an approach that can work out for you if (1) you're lucky and/or (2) you have really good instincts for getting rock solid people who will reliably act as your faithful agents. Terry's got neither of those things, apparently.
  12. It's been discussed here. Laura has taken on a significant role in the sports businesses since Kim became ill. I believe she's an alternate governor or something for one or both franchises? 100%. The word "bumbling" comes to mind. What he ought to do: Hire a boutique, high-level executive recruitment firm and entrust them with the hiring process. In the past, he's just trusted his instincts and identified leadership candidates on a happenstance basis. It ain't working.
  13. That's just untrue. OTOH, I would bet that, after the Russ Brandon debacle, Terry directed his lawyers to have covenants in the contracts for his C-level people that fraternizing with other employees would be grounds for termination. Zing! Try the veal, everyone.
  14. Absent more context, it sure does. Maybe there was an anti-fraternization policy? That would make the terminations more justifiable, I guess. Even so, such a policy would arguably be just as hypocritical. Well, now wait a second. That'd be a horse of a different colour.
  15. Wawrow reports that this was the result of a “romantic relationship” between the 2 executives. Seems to imply that this wasn’t an affair. It’s said that the relationship was an issue because D’Angelo reported to Ross. So much for Terry’s famous horizontal management structure. Terry and Kim became a couple because of a workplace romance where he was her boss.
  16. No, but he hired her into East Resources after meeting her there. And, iirc they became romantically involved after the hiring.
  17. Not sure what to tell you if you don't see it. I've picked up on it. No #fancystats to back up that sort of observation. As for the second piece: Huh? There are absolutely players of varying seniority who have earned and command respect from the refs and linesmen. And a lot of those players wear a C or A on their sweater. Agreed 100%. I'll be stunned if a different decision is made. Cozens and Tuch will wear A's.
  18. Relatedly, I worried a bit last year (and maybe posted here) that Dahlin, as the team's future captain (I presume), appears to be sorta hated by the refs and linesmen. Or at least some of them. I think you need your Captain to have good relationships with the guys in stripes.
  19. Oooh - I got a lil' misty on that one.
