  1. Those guys were maniacs - basically playing on a parking lot with a thin layer of fabric laid on top. Just the light beer advertised there, I think. Screamers are the cream ale. Yowza.
  2. Sure. He's been on the ice with the team on some days, of late. Not today apparently.
  3. Go, Sabres. Hit 'em with another 45+ SOG and hopefully win this time. Also, I've been offline. Where's Quinn?
  4. Mahomes in his press conference talking about how the refs' calling Toney offside will detract from the legacy of Kelce's HOF career. My guy. The only person who detracted from the legacy of a HOF career yesterday was you regarding your own. What a goddamned crybaby.
  5. The suggestions that I see here and elsewhere that Ty Dunne is some punk blogger in his Mom’s basement are completely and totally off the mark. Dunne is as legit a sports writer as there is in this sports writing ecosystem. God help him, he doesn’t have an editor - he needs one (we all do). But the legacy model of sports writing is gone. He’s making it on his own. Or trying to. He knows his sh1t. He’s a good writer. And he’s reporting nothing other than a combination of facts and views expressed to him by people with firsthand knowledge of McDermott’s Bills. McDermott has proven himself to be a good NFL head coach. And it’s time he moved on. views
  6. Oy. Next chance could be in 4 years, which is when all AFC East teams will be pitted against AFC West teams (that's what's happening this season). Hopefully, the Bills can return to AFC East supremacy before then.
  7. Now, now. Let us have our fun.
  8. Quinner! Quietly, my favourite player from last season's Sabres team.
  9. I'm all for the Bluto Principle provided the Sabres can get "rolling."
  10. Absolutely ruthless. And funny.
  11. I heard someone who talks about the league for a living say it - I can't recall who and I don't have any data but it sounds right: The playoff picture is substantially set by American Thanksgiving. I'm sure there are one or two (?) exceptions every season, but, for the super majority of teams that make it, they are in a playoff position on the fourth Thursday of November. If the Sabres aren't NHL .500 by the new year, I will hold out no hope for their playoff chances. Ya - this here is the bare minimum.
  12. Fwiw: Invoking the 9/11 terrorists as a thought project on teamwork is SO bad that it’s sort of funny. Is Sean McDermott a real life Michael Scott?
  13. Confirmed: In 2019, McDermott gave a speech to the team where he cited the 9/11 terrorists as paragons of coordinated teamwork. Incredible. More importantly, McDermott copping to this specific story lends credence to the rest of the reporting in Dunne’s piece.
  14. A FNG acquired from a bad NHL team who could not crack that team's lineup is wearing a sh1t NASCAR number. Check. A team that should be absolutely desperate looks like crap in their morning skate. Check. If Pegula doesn't fire Granato soon, I half wonder if the guy would quit.
  15. Well then there’s no helping you.
  16. I don't think you're following me. I was (and have been) responding to this post: And what I've been saying is: There's a whole bunch of random plays that could have gone the other way. I am also saying that, for this season's Bills, those plays have all come out in the wash, so to speak. They've evened out. The Bills won some games that they could have just as easily lost. And the Bills have lost some games that they just as easily could have won. Thus, their record of 6-6 is a fair representation of what kind of team they are so far.
  17. The Sabres did look like world beaters at times last season against the Wings. More, please.
  18. This is consistent with my original point, which was responding to the suggestion that the Bills' playoff destiny was there for the taking with wins against the Jets (Week 1), Patriots (away), and Broncos (?). My point was that the Bills lost games that they should have won and that they won games they very easily could have lost. They are what their record says they are. My contention was that if one single, crucial play turned out differently (and, mechanically speaking, not much differently), then the Bills would have lost that game. PI in the end zone on a game ending Hail Mary is essentially never called. We saw that most recently on Sunday night.
  19. For those who don't keep score (like me), can the board be heard regarding this poster's rumour-mongering bona fides? And please feel free to speak for yourself, @CallawaySabres.
  20. If Chris Godwin tracks the ball on the final play, the Bills lose that game.
  21. And, if the Bills had correspondingly lost the games they probably should have (Bucs, Giants), they'd be right around where they are right now. This team deserves every bit of its current record.
