understood. it's just poor form to title a thread "trade alert! sabres have traded" when you're just speculating. and i'm all for fun, and i'm not uptight. i just don't find that sort of board behaviour to be ... fun. not a huge deal, in any case.

L oh L. Seriously, though. There's a possibility that this team could somehow be worse than last season if ROR were traded and the replacement plan doesn't pan out. OTOH, if, as it is rumoured, the locker room isn't cohesive because of ROR's resentment of Eichel, then maybe there's something to be gained beyond what ROR does on the ice (which is considerable). It's interesting -- there seems to be a range of opinion on the matter amongst smart posters here. I'm skeptical, myself -- especially when it's talk of ROR for the 3OA+.

I'm not sure about Jack the lazy Russian, but I like this take. There's a weird group think arising around here and elsewhere that ROR needs must be traded. Haha - well, I am tempted to credit him here.

I don’t think ROR gets discussed as a bit slow for no good reason. There were innumerable instances last year where he just looked like he was behind the play - especially 5v5. OTOH, I am confident that he’ll work his ass off this offseason and concentrate on improving his speed. He’ll look quicker this coming season.
