    ..just a reminder, the balance of the rosters for the World Cup will be announced no later than next Friday, May 27th. Ryan O'Reilly is in the mix but Canada has a deep group. He can help his chances if he continues to perform well at the Worlds. Will Auston Matthews make Team North America? Sam Reinhart? Will be interesting to see how they shape out their rosters.

    Colorado has some interesting cap issues. They have $52mil in existing contracts with key RFAs in McKinnon, Grigorenko and Barrie. A total of 17 RFAs and 11 UFAs. If they throw coin at McKinnon and Barrie, they'll need an owner with deep pockets to fill out the rest of their roster/farm team. Erik Johnson is making $6mil, Beauchemin $4.5mil... Barrie probably wants term and likely more than what Johnson makes. That's a lot of cap eaten up by 3 defensemen when you need to sign a stud like McKinnon.

    I, for one, can't stand Doc Emrick. I don't understand why everybody always falls head over heels for the guy. He knows his hockey, but I can't stand his voice, like nails on a chalkboard for some reason. I prefer the canadian broadcast teams.

    ESPN will be broadcasting the World Cup of Hockey in September, which I think will be huge and a sign of things to come.

    Key Arena already exists in Seattle, it's named after KeyCorp the parent company of Key Bank. I wonder if they just put the name up for grabs again. You would think the acquisition would void the previous agreement.

    I just don't see this kid ever living up to expectations.

    Gostisbehere and McDavid didn't play enough games IMO, staying healthy and on the ice is part of being a good player. Panarin is too old. Eichel and Larkin had the most impressive rookie campaign IMO.

    Let me put it this way. What makes Risto such a great young player? Skating? Awareness? Shooting? Passing? What is he much better at when compared to other young defensemen?

    IMO Rasums is a overrated a bit. As an RFA who Murray didn't draft, I wonder if he's on the table.

    Not a fan of Matthews... Toronto can have him... good luck with that! I can see him scoring 20g his first year, but IMO he has a low ceiling due to the fact he's already fully grown at 18yo. If he doesn't blossom into a top 5 scorer in the league by his 3rd year, the Toronto media will turn on him and things could get ugly. That, and the fact he's from the desert and jumped overseas to earn a paycheck instead of finishing high school, etc. etc.. etc.. IMO at least one, likely 2 of the defensemen will be there.
