  1. If they get everyone back and continue sleepwalking through the first 10min of every single ***** game... then yeah it's possible.
  2. This game feels like a crossroads for this team. Another loss and suddenly they've got a serious losing streak pending with a roadie to Boston on Thur. That said, you would think they're desperate for a win, but I've thought that before and they come out flatter than a flapjack. It's a great opportunity for the young core to step up and demand more from their teammates.... ruffle a few feathers if you will... let it be known there will be repercussions if anyone mails it in. The atmosphere in the locker room should be serious and focused, not aloof with guys joking around and talking about whatever.... the "game" starts well before puck drop.
  3. Peters and Rivet are old school meatheads. The game is much different now than when they played. Their power play coach take is laughable. Just because you never quarterbacked a power play doesn't exclude you from coaching one. They're just looking for clicks with their over the top takes. Entertaining tho haha.
  4. this He's a super nice guy with lots of experience but doesn't hold the room accountable. They need a leader who isn't afraid to call guys out.
  5. Those are details which are lacking accountability.... be that by a coach or more importantly the core group.
  6. No outside player or package of players is going to fix this team's ailments. There's already a core group in the locker room. Nothing will change until the core decides to enforce a standard of play and hold everyone accountable. That simply hasn't happened yet, and in my experience as a player, I don't think it will change until guys like KO and Zemgus are gone.
  7. I agree. Granato is a great individual developmental coach.... he's 56, that's what he is and always will be... there's a place for him in the game and he's excellent at what he does. That said, this team is lacking accountability for structured team play. Eric Johnson hinted at this earlier in the season when he mentioned that they won't accomplish much until they ALL commit to play within a certain structure. Until that standard is set and enforced this team will just continue to drift aimlessly like a rudderless ship.
  8. It's a lot easier to stomach once you come to the realization that for this franchise winning isn't as important as relationships. The guys on the team all get along really well, they're all getting paid now and Granato doesn't hold them accountable for poor performances. They're on easy street. So why would they want to change anything? It's OK to lose as long as everyone is enjoying each other's company. That mentality has trickled down the organization. The only way that changes is if somebody decides it's not OK to lose... and that starts by holding folks accountable, not just players or coaches.
  9. Well, at least it didn’t bother you.
  10. I hope they take it slow with Quinn.... so many times you hear guys come back too soon from achilles surgery only to re-injure and never be the same again. It's a tough recovery I'd even consider sitting him the entire season if I was KA.
  11. Ryan Johnson, who some thought wouldn't sign with Buffalo, has had a massive impact on defensive depth. He's completely bumped Bryson out of the picture, and they don't need to play EJ 18min/g. Things would look much different if he wasn't here. He was a guy they needed to hit on and somehow he looks much better as a pro than he did at any point in his collegiate career.
  12. Almost feels like there's more pressure on him to perform well now that he's in Rochester. The expectations are high that he'll be excellent.

    AITAH?

  14. Last season UPL ranked 44th in home ice sv% out of 46 goaltenders who logged 600+ even strength minutes.... giving up 17 goals above expected at home... 2nd worst in the entire league. It's still somewhat early, but he's been much better on home ice (4 games)... allowing 1.7 fewer goals than expected.. home_sv% away_sv% 2022/23 0.871 0.910 2023/24 0.921 0.917
  15. ..and there it is.
  16. I'm honestly beginning to wonder if KA has some kind of gentleman's agreement with Levi that he won't send him down to Roch. It just makes no sense to keep him in up if he's not going to play enough to properly develop.
  17. Kane is washed, especially coming off hip surgery. I remember when Bogo cam back from his hip surgery, he was awful for a good 8-12 months... slow, stiff, couldn't pivot, etc... it took him a good 16 months to regain form. I doubt Buffalo even reach out to him.... they're not a sluggish Patrick Kane away from contending.
  18. Unpopular opinion... last night was more to do with the Rangers laying an egg, than Buffalo playing exceptionally well. Don't get me wrong, Buffalo played well... that was definitely their "A" game. However, if the Rangers brought their "A" game, the score wouldn't have been close.
  19. You ride 6K3U2N until he falters. Levi needs to be playing hockey games, send him down yesterday.
  20. UP-Luu had what was probably his best game as a pro tonite. Let's hope he can find some consistency and string together a solid chunk of games. Their playoff hopes depend on it.
  21. This lineup is a mess. You call up Kulich then scratch him, while guys like Krebs and Jost who have done nothing are in the lineup? And your best +/- defender is your 7th defenseman while Clifton who is a -9 in 19 games gets slotted in your top 6? Are they even trying to win? Or giving veterans playing time just because. Why not sit Clifton after his dash 4 on Saturday and put Kulich in as your 12th forward? FITFO
