Prepare to be disappointed.

Have a night were they let each individual player decide which themed jersey they wear for warmies... better yet let them design their own for whatever cause they'd like bring awareness too.

Can Devon Levi, a rookie goaltender, provide at minimum NHL average goaltending? Maybe.
Is it wise for KA to go into the season with nothing but a a "maybe" at the most important position in the ice? No.

Zemgus is highly underrated on this forum.
Not sure he's "underrated", just we know what we're getting with him... we've already seen peak Zemgus.
Solid defensive play, kills penalties, blocks shots, doesn't score or generate offense.

Does everyone think that all these players are going to have career years like last year ?.
That would be unheard of just saying.
Well I don't have any specific reason to believe the young players won't continue to improve.
With NHL average goaltending they easily make the playoffs last season.
It's more than concerning that KA believes they're set with Comrie, UPL and Levi.

Adams said that Östlund is 1" taller and much heavier. That puts Östlund at 5'11" (no idea on the weight) if we use his combine height from last year.

Seems like a biased report... where's weather, night life, entertainment, recreational activities, etc....?

Just read that Philadelphia is going to fully rebuild. How good is Hart?
Nick Seeler would be a nice add.

For some reason I had him 2” taller and 20 lbs heavier. Kinda bummed he’s smaller than Joki.
UMinny had Johnson listed at 6'1 190lbs.
The Sabres list Jokiharju at 6'0 200lbs.
They're both lying 🙂

If KA truly believed in the leadership abilities of his young core, he wouldn't need to re-up KO.
He'd keep that spot open for a kid like Kulich, Rosen, Savoie, or Rousek.
Be better.

Thought KA didn't want any vets standing in the way of the young guns?
This signing speaks volumes about the lack of young leadership on this team.
Do better.

Thats a horrible idea not only does it hurt buffalo but other teams as well.
Did you miss how embarrassing buffalo was tanking for Connor McDavid no lottery ?
Edm won the McDavid lottery, Buffalo dropped from 1st to 2nd.
Teams are tanking with the lottery in place, in fact I'd argue it encourages tanking as the farther you fall the better your chances become.
Bottoming out to rebuild is a common strategy exercised by every team in every sport. If you decide to throwaway a season and risk alienating your fanbase, I'm fine with that.
I strongly disagree with the idea that tanking is somehow unethical and needs to be prevented.

Get rid of the lottery, hockey was fine for 100 years without it.
If teams decide to tank and risk alienating their fanbase then so be it.

He said it is the chance to play with his brother as they have never played together before.
That's what beer league is for.
He's a pro getting paid a large sum to be his best for Buffalo.

Well I hope and pray he comes out healthy.

That's fine, but if gets hurt they'll be lots of questions. He's a key piece.

Should have 2 awards its dumb now
Everybody gets an award!

It's too early to rank them. Both players, imo, have some runway to improve... especially Power. Ask again in 5 years.
-
I'm kinda surprised Tuch is going, considering his injuries this season, you'd think he'd take a break and let his body heal up completely.... he's battled injuries practically his entire career thus far.
-
The Norris has devolved into "whichever defenseman scores the most points".
It is what it is. Dahlin's a great defenseman no matter how many votes he gets.
That said, maybe they should have a separate award for "most points by a defenseman" like the Art Ross.. call it the Coffey Trophy or something.

To me a team core is a combination of ability, locker room presence, and how bad they want to be here.
These are the heart and soul guys who create the team culture and younger players look up to.
5 most core guys: Dahlin, Thompson, Cozens, Tuch, Samuelsson
I'm not counting Okposo because he's not under contract. Power, Quinn, Krebs, Peterka are still too young.

The UPL interview was the most interesting of the ones I watched. He seemed very emotional. I think he knows that his future with this team is very much up in the air. I really hope Levi coming in fuels him to be a better player as opposed to him requesting a trade or something. Having a Levi 1A and UPL 1B tandem in the future like Ullmark and Swayman would be great.
I've never seen a goalie, at the NHL level, struggle to catch the puck as much as UPL. Pucks not only bounce out of his glove like it's spring loaded, he also struggles at covering his high glove side. As the season wore on teams began to exploit this weakness and it showed.
He's still relatively young for a goalie, but he's got lots and lots of work to do... rebound control, recovery, awareness, tracking pucks, anticipation, etc...
