Since this team has shown a consistent inability to win 4 games in a row this season despite multiple attempts at it, the safest bet in sports is to bet against them in the next game since they will once again likely lose in their bid for 4 straight wins.

Honestly? Not much.

Amazing that this team is one of the best first period teams in the NHL, have one of the best goals differentials in the NHL in the first period and score first more than any other team in the NHL and haven't figured out a way to win those games more often. Literally one of the hardest things to do, and one of the most important around the NHL in terms of wins and losses and the Sabres even managed to screw this up. Under Granato the issue was trh Sabres were constantly not prepared to play to start games and would fall behind so often and had to try and play catch up. We all thought, well of they would just start better we would be in much better shape and would probably make the playoffs. Now we start better than every other team in the NHL and STILL haven't figured out how to win games doing that. It's honestly mind blowing and mind numbing at the same time.

How does this team play like this on random nights and then go back to sucking for long stretches?

They are still in last place in the conference by a large margin even after 2 straight wins. It's honestly pathetic how the Red Wings, Sens and Canadiens have now passed us in our rebulld long after Toronto did even tho they started theirs 2 or 3 years after our initial one. And the Blue Jackets have rebuilt 2 or 3 times in that span as well and passed by us on all of them.

What in the hells? Double hat tricks?? 7 goals? No huge comeback after taking theead by the other team?? What's wrong with this team?

UPL doesn't make the save that keeps them in games enough and when that doesn't happen he often lets in one or two more questionable ones in quick succession.

No snow...or wind really. Just cold. Main issue at those temps will be ball security. Fumbles increase historically about 35% at those temps above normal and trh colder it gets, the harder it is to hold onto the ball for a few reasons. First it gets slipperier because the material becomes more rigid and harder to hold on to. Second, your hand grip strength becomes far less in cold weather. Both teams would be smart to rip at the ball every chance they get. Could be the difference in the game with how frequently Lamar likes to dance behind the line and avoid rushers/tacklers. If he isn't careful, that ball will be coming out more than usual.

Hopefully not so happy the Canes come out and score within the first minute like has happened so many 3rd periods where we have a lead. Super effective under Granato, not so much under Ruff.
