  1. No snow...or wind really. Just cold. Main issue at those temps will be ball security. Fumbles increase historically about 35% at those temps above normal and trh colder it gets, the harder it is to hold onto the ball for a few reasons. First it gets slipperier because the material becomes more rigid and harder to hold on to. Second, your hand grip strength becomes far less in cold weather. Both teams would be smart to rip at the ball every chance they get. Could be the difference in the game with how frequently Lamar likes to dance behind the line and avoid rushers/tacklers. If he isn't careful, that ball will be coming out more than usual.
  2. Hopefully not so happy the Canes come out and score within the first minute like has happened so many 3rd periods where we have a lead. Super effective under Granato, not so much under Ruff.
  3. They don't seem very physical to me at all. They seem very finesse. Might be why they usually have quick exits in the playoffs tho.
  4. Tokarski is clearly not an NHL goalie...thanks to Carolina for putting him in 😂
  5. People are people. After a certain age you want security and knowing where you are going to be rather than moving again.
  6. If you want to see what a team looks like that is good but doesn't hit much(about 2.5 hits fewer per game than the Sabres), look at the Hurricanes. 25th in hits/game this year, dead last by a mile last year.
  7. No it didn't, they were equally as good in the second year as well.
  8. They were something like 53-1-4 when leading after 2 periods over those 2 years. I've posted the numbers prior in other threads. Essentially, if they took a lead into the 3rd period they almost always won in regulation. It wasn't always pretty but they almost always got it done.
  9. This is only an issue this season. They were the best in the league under Granato in the prior 2 years
  10. Last game they finally got off the schneid against this team with their first win, a resounding 6-2 defeat of the Kraken after 5 straight losses, most of which were not competitive. I like the Sabres to win this for their 5th 3 game winning streak of the season. You know what this means tho...bet the house that they will lose their next game...they can't win 4 in a row. Safest bet in sports.
  11. Yeah, neither were the Canadiens when we lost to them twice or the Canucks or the Isles.
  12. Quinn has really been coming on in the last 7-8 games or so
  13. I swear this team is so Bi-Polar
  14. Hey Ted, glad to see you are still interested in the team in some way...
  15. Bills played it for 17 years, why not a few more? 🤣
  16. How in the hell is Montreal in a playoff spot after they were below the Sabres not too long ago??
  17. Yaaaaaa!! 2 clutch shots by Tuch and JJP... UPL shuts the door 3 straight times... One thing I can't understand is how TNT is so terrible at shootouts...it looks like he doesn't even care if he scores or not
  18. Brussel Sprouts...these are the equivalent of eating tiny balls of feces without even knowing what feces tastes like because I am confident it could not taste worse. Asparagus...not a fan of the taste or the way it makes your pee smells after.
  19. That's because Meatballs just told them to go play without any structure. That was good enough to get them close to the playoffs but was never going anywhere long term. All it did is teach bad habits, bad fundamentals and then force the next coach to then have to undo everything they learned since Meatballs was here and re-teach them the proper way. They weren't starting from 0, they were starting from -500 due to having to unlearn what they had learned first. If you can't understand why this was the worst possible hire the Sabres could have done...one who essentially let them do whatever they wanted and didn't bother teaching them any structure, I am not sure what to tell you. It set this team back even more than they would have normally by switching coaches. Essentially, we have no real way of knowing anything about Ruff until he can get these players to play the proper way and that probably is going to take most of the season.
  20. Because Meatballs never taught this team any fundamentals so Lindy basically had to undo their bad habits before trying to even teach them the proper habits. And is still struggling to do so because their default in tight situations is to go back to their old default still
