From what I have heard from others who have traveled to Europe(I am getting ready to go myself in 2 weeks but to France, Belgium, Germany, etc), is that you have to be VERY careful with people trying to pickpocket you. It's a huge thing there apparently. Don't let anyone touch you, come up and start talking to try and distract you while their partner goes to work, hug you, etc... In the US it's not that common but over there it is exceptionally common. Also was told to make a copy of your important documents like passport, etc in case something happens so you can go to the US Embassy there and get help with getting replacement documents.

Has a lot to learn about writing code too. This nonsense about how AI is going to put all software engineers out of a job within 5 years is complete rubbish. It's definitely a productivity boost when used in conjunction with a competent software engineer, but if someone is incompetent it's not going to be much use to them or it's going to build you something that either doesn't work or doesn't even do anything close to what it is supposed to do and they won't know better or how to instruct it properly. I use it everyday at work with GitHub Co-Pilot and it's very good at writing repetitive boilerplate code, documentation and unit tests. Not so great at much else. It will send you down a rabbit hole very quickly if you let it.

Maybe to blend in with all the 6'4" and larger forwards we already have?

Sabres added speed this offseason -Check the numbers

Having potentially the fastest line in hockey as a checking line is pretty fantastic... But they are a heck of a lot faster than who they lost and that matters when you are pressuring the puck and disrupting the opposition. -
Steep you say? Did you ever walk up the steps in the old Aud? It was literally like stairway to heaven.

Their roof is likely made of much different material than yours.

What praise? I literally watch the other teams broadcast every night so I don't have to listen to him.

Me too, but I work 1/3 of the hours

As a senior software engineer I likely barely work 84 hours in 3 weeks if I factor in actual time working and not doing other stuff like browsing the internet, waiting for pipeline builds to deploy or other random stuff. Probably between 85-90. Luckily I make up for it by being super efficient and focused when I do actually work so the net result is that I usually finish things well ahead of the expected time. I used to work crazy hours and OT at different jobs(especially the restaurants) but at some point I realized that it wasn't appreciated really and that all it did was cause me to get burnt out. Never again. I'm the CEO of Me, INC and I realized that companies don't give a crap about you in the end so if they are always looking out for their best interest then I will do the same for mine. I definitely take pride in my work and getting things done but the days of pushing harder and harder to get things done is over. All that leads to is the expectation it will always be like that and the dumping of more work onto you from people who aren't moving as fast...your reward? Extra work without extra pay...or a minimal promotion and pay increase with double the work...no thanks. If I want a raise I either wait for the IT recruiters to contact me about positions or get in touch with them and let them know what I am looking for and when they have something they get back to me. Last 3 job changes have all been from recruiters reaching out to me when I wasn't even looking. The offers were too good to pass up tho, basically got 20K raises each time with bonuses on top of it. Switching jobs every year to two years is pretty much standard practice until you reach a certain pay level that's near the ceiling, then you become more selective. I realize in the factories it can be different as they can require it as part of the job, but that wouldn't be for me.

Damn that sucks, but as a doctor I presume you should at least have no issues finding a job and one that likely pays more to boot.

The Sabres will make the playoffs this season if ___________

Lindy Ruff gets thru to them mentally and they consistently play the type of hockey he wants them to. -
I'm going to say somewhere between 40-45 points. Maybe 16 goals, 28 assists for 44 points.

We don't need it to save us...we have plenty of talent already here, now we just need to have someone out it together properly. You could give people the exact same ingredients and one could make something that is barely edible and the other could make a gourmet meal. No different with coaching. Ruff is going to get a lot more out of this group than Granato could.

Trade: C Ryan McLeod - Oilers for Matt Savoie
Big Guava replied to tom webster's topic in The Aud Club
2 freak injuries don't really warrant an injury concern for me. Especially when it wasn't something that happened throughout his career growing up. Anymore than having someone nail you from behind while stopped at a red light twice within a year makes you accident prone. -

Because most fans have the IQ of a rock or their picket fence. Quinn will be if he stays healthy and Peterka could be a 40 goal scorer. I would definitely expect a bounce back year from Cozens. -

We still have 10 players like Savoie, we need more players like McLeod. It's about balance. The team needs to be properly balanced with varying skill sets. -

Also has a very long reach with that stick and can be sneaky effective offensively although it seems to come in spurts where he will score a few goals in a game and then nothing for 15 games. -

We can use a lot more of that...when the Sabres actually played that way the other team could barely get shots on net against them. There were a few games against good teams where they used their speed to back check and teams had single digit shot totals well into the 3rd period. The game in Winnipeg was one I distinctly remember and there was another I think maybe against Dallas? -

OK, they traded a skilled player for a more well rounded player who has wheels to burn. Gotta like it...they got something they needed for something they have 10 more of. -

OT: Things (mostly sports related) that you think are overrated
Big Guava replied to mjd1001's topic in The Aud Club
Not when you work remote and have flexible hours where you can pretty much do whatever you need to do whenever by just letting everyone know you'll be gone for x amount of time today -
Hopefully everyone reports back with all their digits still intact tomorrow.

Some of them are cool when they have other vendors and food places and it's more of an event... The ones with just a few places selling overpriced local produce I could by in the stores coming from the same places for half price, I agree with. Oh man...some of those flavored popcorns are amazingly good. -

-French Canadians' opinion of themselves in relation to the rest of the world and especially the rest of Canada. Like seriously...maple syrup is great and all, but it's not that special and neither are you. WNY and places like the Adirondack region and Vermont have plenty of local Maple Syrup producers as well and nobody around here is walking around like they are Gods gift to the universe. Put your noses back down. -Pizza in most other places outside of WNY. When I say other places have very low standards, I'm not joking. Most places "best" pizza spot wouldn't even crack the top 20 in WNY. Have lived in numerous other parts of the country and sampled pizza in many places we have visited and it's sad when people form those areas consider Domino's one of the best pizzas. Now obviously I am not talking like places like NYC that have plenty of great locations or other such places. Seems to be more of a Midwest and South thing. Part of a group called Pizzaholics on FB and there are some truly frightening looking creations that are being raved about that make school cafeteria pizza from the 80s look appealing. And lots of places serve "large" pizzas that are like our small pizzas here but cost more. Used to wonder why so many Buffalo pizza places ship pies around the country...now I know. Pretty much anyone who is from Buffalo/WNY and lives elsewhere now on there talks about how pizza is trash where they are at and how they are still looking for anything even close to what we have here. IMO, it may be an unpopular opinion but our pizza might actually be better than our wings in WNY -MLB...does anyone even go to games anymore or watch them on TV? Can't remember the last time I watched a few innings let alone an entire game. Perhaps if I need a good afternoon snooze I can put one on someday. Not surprising it's dropped to #3 in the US behind the NFL which is miles ahead of the NBA in 2nd which just passed baseball. I'd even be willing to bet College Football draws more interest. -
Pretty easy for me. It was the day we lost both Briere and Drury needlessly on the same day. Still have never recovered from that singular moment in franchise history which is likely the biggest blunder.
