  1. Did they practice Defense ??
  2. The deck chairs on the Titanic still weigh the same.
  3. Good post. We are all going to have a different level of " Perspective " . Mine is the team needs to solve a lot over the summer and into camp with a new scheme. They don't play D at all, outside of Kyle O, Girgs and Jost. Other 3 lines float too often. Don't pay the price. Need another solid 2-3 Blueliners. Goalie situation isn't promising . Levi a year away. Special teams ( PP and PK) are not good. They learned how to score and that hid a lot of shortcomings to a point. Exposed. The step forward was good bu tons more to be done. I'll view the off-season and see if they have enough sense to face up to the shortcomings and change how they do things.
  4. 10 goals isn't because a lack of a trade for 1-2 guys. That might have cut last nights GA to 8 or 9 instead of 10. It's the team as a whole. Get real.
  5. It's one thing to trade for D. Yes, they need more. It's a whole other thingy to actually play defense as a team. The Goalie position needs to improve but the team as a whole has next to no idea how to sacrifice on D. Float and watch over skating hard and crowding their man. Pay the price ? They make a minimal effort in their own end. 'That's our style " explanation no longer works. 10 goals will do that.
  6. I was reminded of that last week when 5-8 Conor Sheary decked our 6-5 Samuelsson.
  7. Slightly off topic but this old guy was cleaning out the attic this morning. I found the 1982 NFL Draft Notebook by Palmer Hughes. Naturally, we took the wrong guy at the top. WR Perry Tuttle. Still, a great read down memory lane.
  8. That's the most astute observation. Rugged Defensemen who move out forwards in front of the net. Stand up opponents at the blue line. Completely finsish their checks. Don't pinch and get caught. Able to clear pucks in pressure moments without coughing it up. Poise. Look to guard their man instead of watching the puck and seeing forwards get open shots. Yes, it's nice if they have a little O to their game but having some actual D ability is lacking in 2-3 of our current backliners. Plus our forwards are getting caught not getting back all too often. The explanation of a more offensive style and the explanation that " those things happen with an offensive team" doesn't fly when the O cannot convert many nights. The other team do convert, knowing your roster is still a bit young and reckless.
  9. Starting to look dire. Not really surprised after folks posted the remaining schedule weeks back. Not there yet. Too many holes. Work to do.
  10. If I even worry at all. Changes will be coming and then I'll reboot my view of the team. This team still has so much very young talent. They aren't going to foget how to score. They just need to learn how to play a two way game and improve on Special teams (PP & PK). Plus stabilize the Goalie position. I'll "worry" about next year...next year.
