Looks close, doesn't it? Yet it feels like we've been totally dominated. Realistically, any of us expecting an immediate change in culture/results were bound to be disappointed. Patience is probably needed, but justifiably, that's on short supply. 3rd period these guys need to come out with their hair on fire and actually show some signs of life. Come home 0-2 and it will be the same dead, disinterested 5000 people at KBC. They built a little bit of excitement bringing Lindy back (I wasn't overwhelmed with the move), but if we don't see actual progress, nobody's gonna give a frog's fat ass.

This really should be a make or break season for Adams. This is the 5th year of his tenure. The roster is constructed in his image. They've barely missed the playoffs the last two years. There are no more excuses. No more talking about a "vision." By year five, the team is as far as you can take it. Playoffs or GTFOH and this isn't a promising start.

Name something you feel strongly is going to happen in the #Sabrehood this year? Malenstyn will become a fan favorite. What is something you think a lot of Sabres fans will be surprised by? How much improved we are on the blue line. The talent finally starts to mesh and we have one of the top-8 defensive corps in the league How effective this defence core will be playing Lindy Ruff hockey Very. There's a lot of talent here that just kind of withered on the vine in Granato's system. I think Dahlin takes the next step and Power/Byram take huge leaps this season. What worries you most about the coming season? UPL regresses and Levi still isn't ready. Reimer ain't it, either What are you most excited about? Watching the D corps blossom and the second line becoming an explosive unit And what hot take would you be willing to put money on this year? By early February, the Sabres are one of the most exciting teams in the league and we finally have a team with the physicality that makes other teams hate playing us. -

Malenstyn 13) Who will be the first Sabre traded away this season? Rosen 14) Will KA make any in-season acquisitions before the deadline? Yes 15) Will the Sabres be buyers or sellers at the deadline? Buyers 16) Other Bold prediction? {Such as KA gets fired mid-season ;)} Not really. I think we take the step forward we expected before a frustrating season last year. 17) Any other thoughts? Sabres squeak into the playoffs, but lose a hard fought opening round in 6. Progress. -
Trade: C Ryan McLeod - Oilers for Matt Savoie

Not saying he will need to be, just that it's not currently a part of his game. I think it's a good trade. -

I watch a lot of the Oilers as they're my second favorite team - I have no problem with this trade. McCleod is a solid 3C. He's a very good penalty killer, lightning fast, and a decent defender. Wins a decent amount of faceoffs. His offensive game can be frustrating and he's not physical. There may still be some untapped offensive potential. Savioe was another undersized skill guy and we have no idea what he's going to be in the NHL. With our cupboard stocked how it is, you make that trade.
