Can't lose games like this. Sleepwalking through 2/3 of the season has left the margin for error almost non-existent. The Wings haven't just been getting beat, they've been getting dominated. The Coyotes are in a death spiral and dominated the Wings in Little Caesars the other night. Cannot lose games like this, and CBJ, and Anaheim multiple times. Once again, we get teased with what they're capable of, then they regress back to the mean. Hopefully we get a new coaching staff and some more toughness on the roster for next season. We're just playing out the string in a disappointing season at this point. I want to believe they can make an improbable push for the playoffs, but they've been unable to put anything significant together all year, why think they can start now?

Yep. Blowing a golden opportunity. Theme of the season thus far. Just cannot sustain positive momentum.

We're not going to win EVERY game until the end of the season, but games like this...against a team that is REELING...are pretty close to "must win" territory. Need to approach this last 11 mins like it's an elimination game. Leave it all on the ice.

Five shutouts for Upie! Cannot overstate how huge his development has been. He's developed into a goalie that can legit steal a game for you.

It's games like this that make this season so frustrating. They'll show flashes of what they're capable of then come out and play like a pack of alpacas the next game. There's a good hockey team here, talent isn't the issue. Just need some minor roster tweaks and some coaching that preaches consistent effort and accountability.
