He's only sorry because he got caught I can't forgive people like him

He ruined a career for a kid so his career should be ruined also

What happened was awful but how did Quenneville directly ruin the kid’s career? The coaching staff at the AHL level and Bowman as GM would have been more directly involved.

It should have been handled way differently from an organizational standpoint.

All I’m saying is Quenneville was disciplined by the league and if they decide to reinstate him as some sources seem to think, he will be sought after as he is an excellent coach. If he is available the Sabres should talk to him.

  2. I think Brindamour is extended already in Carolina.

Berube brings exactly what Adams was spewing today: experience, structure, fire, Cup champion

Quenneville is the wildcard. He made a mistake and paid the price. He has apparently taken all the steps to improve himself.  He has paid his debt and will get a second chance. I think it should be in Buffalo. Brings everything Adams is looking for.

Ruff is the low hanging fruit and the least desirable choice but does add what Adams wants.

Gallant and Boudreau are not known for structure.

Berube or Quenneville are the hopes, Ruff is the fallback expectation.

It will be interesting because Adams sounded like his ass is in the fire now. I would expect some trades and signings this summer that are outside his comfort zone.

  3. What is Adams going to say today?

If it is about taking the next step than it can’t be Appert.

Is he going to Atleast BS U.S. by throwing out the idea of an actual coaching search?

I mean Sullivan could shake loose in Pittsburgh. Guys like Berube, Quenneville, Boudreau, Gallant are all itching to get back behind a bench.

Brindamour is the unicorn dream right now.

If all that experience and talent is out there and they just go Appert than Terry’s pocket book is closed, the internal cap is staying and the future sucks.

  4. Brindamour is my 1A choice and Quenneville is 1b, Beurube 3rd.

Quenneville has taken a lot of steps to meet with people and try to better himself. He’s itching to get back behind the bench. 3 Cups, would be able to help attract high level coaches for his staff and players on the ice. Someone will give him a second chance and be happy they did. Might as well be Buffalo.

Why are some people so fixated on Ruff?

He was here 258854445 years, no cups. Rode Dominick Haseks coat tails most of the time. Overused Miller, didn't handle goaltenders well overall. Botched the gameplan against Boston in 2010. Too many men penalty comes to mind, (sigh). The lost goes on

Did nothing in Dallas with a talented roster, even missed the playoffs with them.

    Recently fired again

If they hire Ruff this is the same concept as when they traded back for Pominville. A lazy, cheap fan appeasing move. Hard no

I'd like Gallant above all else, big time hard no to Ruff and Appert or anything like that

    Its time to be serious

Why are people so fixated on Peca? Was assistant coach in Rochester and now assistant for the Rangers. We don’t know how good he will eventually be but now is not the time for another first time coach.

I don't feel anything. I thought I would be happy or excited or curious or something. I feel nothing, like why should I even care?

Mostly because you don’t trust who they are going to bring in to replace him.

I hope they realize they are at a point of completely losing the fanbase and this hiring is crucial. It has to be a hire that makes the fanbase say “Wow they are serious about finally fixing this mess”

Why do ppl keep saying this? The defense wasn't that much better. The goaltending was but the defense was still meh.

Granato changed his system to be more defensive. It craters the offense while providing negligible returns on defense. In fact because it cratered the offense so substantially, the defense actually got worse. Every players xgf% went down. So goaltending saved us.

    Granato is a fraud.

Granato’s plan to just let them play run and gun last year and teach them defence this year was such a red flag. The whole idea from Adams down to go with the kids has not worked. Kids develop when out in a structured system with vet talent to lead the way.

Look at the amount of young QBs that get drafted early and go to bottom teams and fall flat in their faces. They don’t have the talent around them to succeed.

A player like Power is dying for a quality vet D partner to help him out.

  8. I would sign DeMelo or Roy and trade both Muel and Joker for help up front

    Byram Dahlin

    Power Demelo/Roy

    Johnson Clifton

keep Bryson at 7 until Novikov is ready

I just don’t see Muel staying healthy long term and now you could get something for him from a team that thinks he will.

Go get an impact forward with Muel, Joker, 1st pick, one of the prospects.

  9. 14. Joshua Eernisse, RW, Michigan-Big Ten

Eernisse’s pure numbers won’t get you overly excited, and this is not a forward who gets power play time at Michigan. But he is a big, fast, and highly competitive winger. He is very physical and brings it every night. Eernisse uses his feet and good enough skill to take pucks to the net and creates enough offense in a highly translatable way to the pro game.

This is a guy I would love to see them sign. They can’t find these guys to save their life. Bottom 6 winger who is highly aggressive

  10. The Ray of Hope is the Vancouver Canucks. Same core but they brought in Tocchet, Gonchar, Foote as a coaching staff and changed everything around.
I believe the right coaching staff that demands accountability and structure could turn this team into a playoff squad next season.

Whether the Sabres are willing to do it and have any clue who those coaches would be is a completely different conversation.
