So wish Granato would sit Ollie for a game or two with a message on effort and physicality
You can't make a guy physical. He either is, or he isn't. That wouldn't work
Agreed on the effort part though

Be Here Now right? Very Zen. But I can't HEAR you.
There were a few free agent options but I can accept your argument that there wasn't any real significant body out there we could add to change things. It's also VERY POSSIBLE that they almost all have no interest in coming to Buffalo. It might also be possible that almost every possible trade involves a guy with a 10 team no trade clause the has Buffalo at the top circled in red and underlined. The one thing you fail to acknowledge in your own repetition is that teams are looking to move bodies for salary reasons. Spending a little could improve this team in the short term while we wait for future prospects to develop properly. It doesn't have to be and shouldn't be an all rookie team.
We had a D crisis and Mike Reilly was free for the taking. Is he great? No. Is he better than Pilut, Clague, Fitzgerald or even Bryson, definitely. One more year of salary after this one so what? Veteran presence who can play in that puck moving style we want even if he trails off totally so what? We don't have to add a done goalie to meet the floor.
I was watching Tampa and Boston and Tampa snapped up Rudolf Balcers for free, Why didn't Adams? Guy would look great playing beside Zemgus on that 4th line. Find a third and make it an all Latvian line. Before you say he's crap, he's feisty and he grinds and he'd help give that 4th line the character it needs. No, we went Jost. Sure why not. Let's be soft forever. A guy can play on Tampa, but he's not good enough for the Sabres. Ya, that makes sense.
Give it up defending Adams, it's a losing argument. This team is a cost cutting joke and he's Bozo leading the clown show.
Looool
Give this man a medal

They aren't firing a guy they just gave a 2 year extension to.
Probably not but if he loses 30 games in a row I'd bet you a box of pop tarts he gets fired
Just now, LGR4GM said:I have another thread that you two could start in mind so the gameday thread isn't a convoluted mess of what about this coach?
Lol he's mad for no reason

At that point i hope they see who gets fired after playoffs .
Who do you have in mind?

@LGR
I like Granato but if somehow, someway Trotz wanted to be here the Sabres would be fools not to oblige

Now when ppl complain about Adams not using cap to help the team, this is it. This is where we should all be yelling at the arena because a free defender was there, just cost some money and yet Adams did nothing. This is the type of stuff that annoys, not that he didn't try to spend closer to the cap in the summer.
This is a contradiction. Could you explain that, please?

Don't want Granato fired but what IF they lose 15 in a row? 20? Time to get the win
Sabres 2-0

Did you really think that they were going to scratch Tuch and put Jost on the 1st line?
No

1 hour ago, LGR4GM said:
I'll trade them a 4th round pick and our 8th best prospect. If that won't do I will wait until summer when he is a UFA an only costs me money.
Why does this matter? Someone tell me. Because it gets ***** out on this forum and in the news ad nauseum and it doesn't mean anything.
See Perraults comment above

I don't think that's true. First, he doesn't have to say he wants to play for the Sabres. Why would he? The idea might interest him, but he's going to entertain all options presented to him. Depends what he thinks he has left and if he wants another cup or not too.
Second, that's exactly the type you want. The one who can visit mommy after every home game cause she did "squirt him out" . He'd give us instant legitimacy, and if he publicly stated repeatedly how much he likes it here other players might start dropping Buffalo from their 10 team no trade clause lists.
BUT, if we show no signs of turning it around this year, he might not want to join a sinking ship.
He could be the guy that unsinks the ship though

Money is an asset. I wouldn't be interested in signing him either and if he'd be interested in signing in Buffalo I'd be extremely suspicious that we'd be writing a big early retirement check.
What if we paid him in stocks

The lines and pairs look pretty normal honestly.
Generally when you see a guy missing and scrub in his place, it’s just that, a scrub holding his place in practice for the day. Handy thing to keep in mind to avoid future freak outs.
Next time that happens I'll definitely be thinking of you, Kurt

And that means hes not a star player because hes having a rough start ?
No but he wasn't all that great. I was bummed when we lost him too but I think he's more of a "put numbers up on a bad team" type of guy. After Jack was injured is was just...him. Someone has to score goals and he was that guy
Side note he is off to a brutal start tho must of been playing with Hubredeau last year

Spending assets to acquire Kane is fruitless. The team needs defense and goaltending and he is neither. Also, why anyone thinks he'd be interested in playing for a team that's as bad or worse than the one he's currently on is beyond me.
If Kane goes anywhere it's to a cup contender closer to the deadline. The only way Buffalo is involved in that is to eat contracts in exchange for assets which, while a topic we constantly bring up, is not something they've done.
Was talking about signing him in free agency tho not a trade
I would not trade for him
33 minutes ago, Zamboni said:This Kane topic comes up 2-3 times a year ever since he was drafted it seems.
IF he wanted to play for the Sabres …. Ever …. It would have come out of his camp already.
I’d rather have another player. Who? There’s a few. But I wouldn’t want a player because his mommy squirted him out on sacred Buffalo territory.
Also, can you imagine if we got him? There would be even more false proclaimations that the Sabres are a small team 😂
Say what's on your mind, champ
