At least they're scoring and getting a ton of shots on net.
They need a defensive specialist coach. You would think that scoring goals would be harder than preventing them

The Sabres got beat by Spencer freaking Martin. A veteran of 15 NHL games and who played poorly.
They refuse to play defense

Granato needs to spend the next week of practices teaching ONLY defense

That's a good question. What would you pay to watch this team in person right now. 300 level, cheapest ticket possible. I say $8 including fees.
They'd have to pay me to go

I remember the Sabres being down 4-1 against Boston and Phil Housley pulled the goalie with more than 3 minutes left. It was hilarious

Over/Under for pulling the goalie is 2:30. What do you got?

Giving up a loser point to a Western team is Ok. They need to tie it first.
They're gonna tie then lose in overtime epic comeback epic fail

Lots of time left, so maybe they should try something crazy, like getting a shot on goal.
Pull the goalie now

Looks like we're gonna have to go for the onside kick I mean pull the goalie strategy tonight.

If / when the Sabres are actually good Bryson won’t be part of the top 6
He shouldn't be part of it now

It's still a goaltender.
Doesn't matter who's in net if you're constantly giving up odd man rushes

What up Thorny
When do they play again I got the feeling a 5 game winning streak is coming up
-
The answer is simple. A lack of fundamental defense. Defense at the most basic level

Lol. Remind me again how often team sunshine and kittens has been right this past decade?
There's nothing impressive predicting the Sabres are gonna stink when they have stunk for the last 12 years. You're not exactly going out on a limb there

Yep, and it’s been true each and every one of the 1,000 other times he trotted out the same tired platitudes. I’m convinced that this team and everyone involved in every aspect of it has confused effort for results. They should be pissed instead of encouraged.
Lol he's been the coach for less than two years. Do you want him fired already

Would be kinda funny though if a team was within striking distance re: time remaining in game and scores required, yet kicked it deep thus sealing the game, when an onside was an option. would be a funny visual
Loool it would be. F it we're gonna lose anyway

I think what PA was getting at more so is, what possible argument can you make for not doing it? what's the downside, if scoring two remains at least a reasonable possibility should you do so?
Agreed. But it's like an onside kick in football. Low percentage and a desperate measure.
If my team doesn't get the onside kick I just chalk it up as a loss and move on
They didn't pull the goalie. Oh well. We played hard and lost to a very good team, If not the best. Tomorrow's a new day

it significantly increases the likelihood of event, both positive and negative. in a time-sensitive situation, that's a trade off you always take
it's a time tested NHL strategy and if anything goaltenders are being pulled earlier and earlier based on the suggestion of the underlyings
That's fine and I agree you should do it. They were down 2 goals though. I'd like to see the statistics on how many goals are scored per goalie pull

How does Girardi still have a job then? Defense is EASILY the biggest problem. Has been for all these years.
I would tell every defenseman that's not named Dahlin that they can't pinch. Ever. If you pinch you're benched. Next guy that gives up an odd man rush is traded to Anaheim
