So I'll bite... Evil is in the eyes of the beholder. It isn't a real thing; it is a perception based off of established norms of behavior. Something very clearly went wrong with this guy's brain. I contend that a sane person doesn't walk into a classroom full of children and open fire. The brain of this individual is/was damaged. Under no circumstances does this individual ever get to see life outside of the penal/mental correction system. And when he is dead, his brain should be dissected to help understand what goes wrong in some individuals. Edit: So I just now turned on the news.. Apparently he is dead too.. I'm glad to hear that.

I don't think any theories are necessary. This is classic insanity, nothing less, nothing more. A sane person doesn't do this.

I think it is inevitable that the players will collapse as a unified voice before the owners do. The 30 owners are generally all from the same social strata and are fighting for their business. The 600+ players represent a very different social strata, are generally more immature, have more divisions separating the lowest paid to highest paid and are borne fighters. IMO, It will be harder to keep the players in line as this goes on.

It's true that spending does go down under CRA if CRA is left in place for the entire year. Last year was the first time in my memory that happened. Don't know what doc fix is and don't know about -AMT

Not quite. CRAs fund the govt to 80% of last years budgets. They essentially put the govt into stasis. we are under a CRA until 30 Mar I believe. It's absolutely crazy to let these guys get away with this style of governance. That's why I want the 30 Sept unmovable deadline. Force negotiations or come back next year. Earmarks are gone from the budget (last two years) and even if they were still allowed, they are new appropriations and can't be started under CRA.

Let's also pass a constitutional amendment requiring the Congress and President to sign all appropriation bills by 30 Sept. Fail to do so and last year's budget becomes this year's budget. No ifs, ands, buts about it.
