Marvelous.

I guess TP could have stopped it though. So I don't see this scenario playing out like this. I could see PLF stepping down because Miller was still a Sabre and the trade was submarined by TP. But the opposite happened.
-
So if PLF is out, then the trade now looks like: RM/SO/PLF for draft picks.

We are in full, throw it at the wall and see what sticks, speculation mode...

At least it is only one year, you know, in case it doesn't work out, or he gets jailed in South Buffalo.

I would hope someone quit over yesterday's massacre. Not everyone could have been on board with that. That substantially alterred the direction and future of the franchise.

They are always the last to know.

1 year 25M ought to do it.

Every championship team needs most, if not all of these components 1. Good to solid goal tending 2. A number one center 3. At least one good line wings + centers 4. A decent second line 5. A shutdown defensive pair Not lets look at what is left of the Sabres: 1. Was the strength of the team until yesterday. Now the cupboard is bare for 2-4 years.baring a trade 2. Never, EVER seems to get addressed by this team since Drury left. Prospects might emerge, but they are years away. Not only do they not have a Number 1 center, but they don't have a number 2. 3. If they ship out Moulson, then that essentially mean Ennis at center with Stafford and Stewart (assuming he stays). That line does not scare anyone. 4. All they have is AHL parts for this. 5. Folks on here are now talking about shipping the defense out of town too. So assuming Ehrhoff is next to go, that leaves Myers and Pysk. If Myers joins the out of town express, then there is clearly nothing left. This need to drive it down to the studs is maddening to me. Eventually, you need to add some talent back that is more than an AHL rookie. I agree with those that say NO MORE DRAFT PICKS. I want NHL-ready talent.

I saw a commentary, I think by NBC during their Olympic coverage, that said there is no economic incentive for the owners. They shutter their arenas for two weeks. Arenas generate their income along with their TV packages. Workers who rely on the arenas for income don't get paid during that timeframe. The owners risk injury to their star players (mostly the Crosby-types are going while the John Scotts-types aren't). They also made the point (not sure I believe) that the cooling off period for their team means some fans don't come back. And lastly, it majorly screws with team schedules as they need to account for the two week period. I agree with whomever said up thread that if Crosby or OV received a season-ending concussion as a result of those six games played, the conversation would be different. I think on the plus side, non-Olympic players get a chance to heal. My guess is NHL players in the Olympics are here to stay. The train has left the station on this.

The Sabres franchise pyre is down to coals and embers. The Olympics all but put out the fire. Time to throw another log on there. You need it rip roaring before the Moulson, Ott and Miller logs are added.

I'm pretty sure I would have backed my car up from there. Leaving it there was crazy.

Well done Canada. Well done

I was okay with this week. About the only thing that amazes me is that Judith has an endless supply of formula and diapers. Oh and Daryl never runs out of arrows.

It was a good episode. A lot happened as they covered five different story lines. They closed some questions from the mid-season finale.
