  1. Except he doesn’t cost us games/points. He has a 58% on ice GF60 and he has dominant high danger GF60 at 77% the handful of blunders stand out, but his broader impact on the ice is a net positive for a team that struggles to create net positive matchups. he should play every game the rest of the year, and everytime housley takes him out it costs us. he has a 58% HDCF, he’s the only defensemen on the team over 50% and he manages these #s with a near team low ozone start %
  2. Please tell me Larsson is dinged up, and Housley is not choosing to sit him.... please
  3. Pilut has made 5-6 high profile mistakes... and that's blinding everyone to the real impact he makes on the ice for the other 90% of his time out there. We outscore our opponents when Pilut is on the ice.
  4. A loss tonight, at home, against a really bad team, would probably end any realistic hope of making the playoffs... sure they 'could' win 5 of the next 6.... but, why would anyone expect that given the way they've played the last 2 months and then losing to Chicago.
  5. And we were so close to being in position to replicate that 2005 roster structure... Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart is even better than Hecht-Briere-Dumont/Poms XXXX-ROR-XXXX could've matched XXXX-Drury-XXXXX XXXX-Mitts-XXXX probably wouldn't have performed at the RAV level, but it would've been interesting to see what some combo of Mitts and Nylander/Olofsson could've done with elite lineup sheltering from line 1,2, and 4 (Larsson/Girgs)
  6. You don't trade ROR to make room for a 20 year old with 6 NHL games under his belt. You make Mittelstadt force you to trade ROR over multiple years of play. The Sabres easily could've had Skinner and ROR under the cap.... Berglund+Sobotka = ROR cap wise.
  7. The same staff that keeps taking Pilut out of the lineup? An appeal to authority can justify any bad decision this organization makes....
  8. What’s so hard about it? The guy has an NHL shot, he’s 23 years old... and we are giving ice time to a 23 yr old Remi Elie instead.
  9. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/787028-philadelphia-flyers-3-off-the-ice-reasons-for-the-richards-carter-trade?share=other#slide0 http://www.sportingnews.com/us/nhl-news/192974-report-lifestyle-issues-behind-philadelphia-flyers-trading-mike-richards-jeff-ca https://www.businessinsider.com/flyers-richards-carter-partying-2011-7 https://www.crossingbroad.com/2011/07/welcome-to-peter-laviolettes-dry-island-the-place-that-may-have-gotten-mike-richards-and-jeff-carter.html
  10. Yea I don’t care. But the “trying not to laugh” line is an insult towards Housley...
  11. I don’t think getting into the shift to shift details is the low hanging fruit.
  12. You say that like it's not silly.... Tage last shift was at the 14 minute mark, he was not one of the gassed guys (Erod was, I missed that) What makes Scandella a better net front presence (i'm trying not to laugh) than... well anyone. If that was his purpose on the ice, it expands the list to Larsson, Girgensons, and basically everyone
  13. Well the obvious answer is Pilut should be dressed... but given that Phil makes bad decisions before the game as well as during.... the answer during the game (given that Mittelstadt, Bogo, and Dahlin were gassed) the acceptable choices with the goalie pulled were: Beaulieu, Erod, Okposo or Thompson. That's assuming the objective was to try and score a goal and win... you never know, maybe we're intentionally tanking again.
  14. I especially Enjoyed when Phil put Scandella on the ice down by a goal with a minute left...
  15. I hope that we retain 50% and send Pommer to a contender for next to nothing... he deserves it, even if his play on the ice now says the opposite.
  16. He was a depth add for this year. Sure his potential is higher.
  17. I didn’t realize it required credit to see the obvious. If your blueline is a mess, and you’re trying to tank, you don’t go out and try to improve the blueline if your ownership gives you the green light to trade your 2nd best player, and you’re trying to tank... you don’t keep you’re second best player we know what a tank looks like... last year was not it.
  18. There is no such evidence. finishing last in and of itself proved nothing. my view coincides with everything Botts did your view looks at the outcome and tries to put a bow on it.
  19. Yes, my view is Botts did a bad job.... not that the bad job he did was intentional noted: you’re saying Botts convinced the Pegulas to wait on trading ROR, and getting rid of Kane would solve the problem... yet he was trying to rank? which is it? Solve the problem or tank?
  20. So, finishing last, means we tanked? Sorry, this is a truly bizarre theory. I didn't realize that so many people actually thought we intentionally tanked last year. It's surprising... I'm trying to finish last... so I make a move to try to upgrade my blueline (Scandella) and bring in more goal scoring (Poms) I'm trying to finish last... so I keep Evander Kane until the last possible minute, even while he was one of the hottest scorers in the NHL in the first 1/3 of the season I'm trying to finish last AND my boss told me I have to trade ROR.... so I keep him for the entire year. It's truly bizarre that you think this theory is so obvious I'll give you credit for creativity
