Unfortunately the stains of what happened 10 years (and more) are still there. They still affect the perception of the franchise on the outside. Hockey players talk. Lehner left and publicly trashed the team for many years, claiming his injuries and his alienation and mental health issues were exacerbated by this team. The story of ROR losing his love for the game in Buffalo and then winning a Cup/Selke/Smythe is still very much alive in the NHL. Kane and Bogo, flawed as they are, are not ambassadors of the way the organization is run. The legend of ineptitude continues and gets worse with the hiring of a soccer coach, the Eichel injury fiasco, the trades of top talent like Reinhart, and the consistent fielding of young teams far below the salary cap. Especially hard is seeing ex Sabres winning and thriving. The chronic losing in Buffalo continues unabated by a GM that is both tone deaf and ineffective. They are not a serious hockey club. This organization had the 4th highest winning percentage in the NHL from inception in 1970 to the time Pegula arrived. It’s all destroyed. Any good, and any glory we once had is tarnished and buried. The TANK was a massive FAIL and ruined the perception of the organization. It ends when they can achieve a level of consistent winning, and players want to come here, not just be here as Adams says, they should want to come here and thrive here.

Elliotte Friedman is reporting Pegula will meet the team in Montreal

For sure. And if true, that’s very unfortunate that Adams thought that way. He could have looked at it like Beane. Which is, that once his players start winning, they will like their teammates, and the coaches and staff, and especially the community. Players would stay if they had a chance to win. Adam’s brought up the Bills in his presser but he missed the mark on his comments. He talked about the difficulties they had, but doesn’t follow how they overcame it. -
Anatomy of Failure - Sabres Losing streak hits 10 games.

The video shows them at the rink. So I assume Terry addressed them there. After the meeting they called off practice. I get that they just played a back to back, but a would a little work hurt a team on a 10 game losing streak? He gave them a day off prior to the Rangers game and it took them 2 periods to wake up and compete. -

Terry flew to Montreal. He addressed the team, he gave everyone a vote of confidence, they skipped practice again. Yes, you win. -
Agree with "compete for a playoff spot", maybe not get there, but they should be in the hunt. Since they came home from the Cali trip they have completely fallen apart. Its like they need the routine that travel provides. Lots of their off ice time is planned out. They get home and they lose focus. They cant get a good start, they cant play 60 minutes, they panic and cant finish - what is distracting them? Most teams thrive on home ice, even average teams. Bring in a team psychologist. Losing close games and blowing leads says something about the players. Words like leadership and accountability are still just slogans to many payers on this team. Something has to change and it has to come from within the players.

Terry message: "I believe in all of you guys, and I think the solution to turning this team around is right here in the room. You guys can do it, and no costly trades will need to be made, because this group is the best team I have seen so far. You know I once coached my sons Squirt and Pee Wee teams and we won the Olean Youth Hockey House League for Development (OYHHLD)* two years in a row, so I know something about winning ice hockey. Now take the day off, check out those fantastic Montreal strip joints, just be careful, the girls tend to wear a lot of cologne. I have to fly back to the super yacht now, the Christmas Palm Trees are to be delivered tomorrow, but have a good game. Good-bye, fella's." footnote: * pronounced oiled -

I am joking. The reality of his private jet takes away from the austerity that is the Sabres. The story is better that he grabs a last minute super saver on Air Canada ( flying economy coach). He probably cannot get all that fruitcake through customs either. -

if you are going to fire someone why do it on the road? He is going to Montreal because its a nice city to visit, its a direct flight from Detroit, the food is good, etc. He can see the team, give the players their Christmas gift, and not have to face the intensity of the Buffalo Hockey media. -

Sounds like an 80’s movie Stoner. -
Having beat KC and Detroit, the Bills are a real contender. And what a likable and fun team to watch. On any given day …

How is UPL overrated? He worked his way onto the roster through Rochester, he is putting up good numbers while playing behind a porous defense and a bunch of quitters. I don’t think the rest of the league shares your opinion. Just on the Sabres roster alone you could say that Devon Levi is far more overrated.

This is weird? How did they play the game with those boxes all over the ice? -

I’ve missed the last two games and it feels good. -
Not the way I see it. Go back and play the videos of the players interviews when Granato got fired. They mostly repeated the same themes and messages that Adams put out there, which is to say they threw Granato under the bus. Now they are finding out accountability is hard, it’s more than the throw away words they were spouting.

Hello Teammates, damm this team is broke. I kept my word. I avoided them today. It was all Bills with no Sabres - I did not want to contaminate the Bills. I made sure I had no Sabres contact during that game. The Bills rose to the occasion. Ten in a row. Blew another lead. My Sabres have been ruined. -
Then Pegula will be paying Granato and Ruff not to coach. So that answer is probably no.

The problem is right now. Giving a 21 year old an 8 year contract puts a bullseye on the kid. Sure he is talented, but he costs us games because he isn’t Dennis Potvin. The solution for right now is to pair him with better players than Joker/Bryson. We have been waiting for Adams to help him by pairing him with a veteran that has complimentary skills.
