  1. VO is definitely tradeable, that would be one opening. ---> Probably Savioe if he shows enough, otherwise they have to find a place for him to play. Okposo needs 16 games and 8 points to hit those milestones. I don't see him playing a partial season just to reach personal goals, if he plays it will be with the intent of completing a a season and helping the team make the playoffs. I think Adams will be more lenient with Kyle because of his stature on the team. Girgs is TBD. I think we need a player like him but I could see him leaving because we dont offer enough money. Jost and Hinostroza have a fight on their hands to make the 23 man roster, Jost has the edge as the spare forward that plays both C/W. Vinnie will probably leave and go to a rebuilding team that offers more minutes. Last year we had two freshman - Samuelsson and Krebs. Plus three rookies - Power, Quinn, Peterka. Then we added a 4th in UPL. That is quite a youth movement. This coming season the talk of adding Levi and three more rookies Savoie, Kulich, and maybe Rousek is going to be a challenge if this team is serious about the playoffs. Add these guys and take away Anderson, VO, Comrie, Kyle/Girgs, and Vinnie and we are actually younger next season than this past season. We may be better someday down the road but the lack of experience will be a big hurdle to overcome once we get to Jan/Feb/March and are battling for a playoff spot. The year after that there is Rosen and Östlund coming on. I guess I am concerned with so much youth to look at. It is time to start winning. Certainly a good problem to have but the fear is we stay with homegrown youth and miss another opportunity to be a playoff team.
  2. I might like it, you have to see them play to know, but some of the opponents 3rd pairings may do some feasting too.
  3. So what forwards do you purge from the current roster? You need 3 slots to take on 3 rookies and if the rookie is not playing many minutes then he might be better off in Rochester (Savioe excluded).
  4. I love Buffalo but so many people from there, typically the ones that have never been away, think that good things are exclusive to Buffalo. That may be normal and apply to other places too. Gord says so in Wheat Kings.
  5. I met him and got his autograph when he was playing for the Bisons. Very good, mostly AHL player during the 6 and 12 team era. Nice man and he was very good in the broadcast booth.
  6. From my RIT days I know they have a Lilac Festival, or they did 4 decades ago.
  7. How could this have been the Sabres? How were the Sabres ever going to get access to these players? Most of whom would not be okay with going to Buffalo at the time.
  8. Scranton? Interesting. https://kendev.com/history/buffalo-ny-city-light-thanks-niagara-falls/ Buffalo had street lights … LA is aka City of Lights
  9. St Louis the Gateway City Cow Town - I have heard Kansas City, Tulsa, and Fort Worth all get this name. NYC - Big Apple Boston - Beantown Philadelphia - City of Brotherly Love or Philthy Detriot - Motown, Motor City Pittsburgh - Steel City Chicago - Windy City Los Angeles - City of the Angels, City of Lost Angels, La La Land Las Vegas - Lost Wages, Sin City Cleveland - Mistake on the Lake Cincinnati - Queen City Atlanta - Hot’ Lanta Buffalo - Queen City of the Great Lakes, City of Good Neighbors
  10. I went to cawledge in Rochester. Never heard smug town. The Lilac City was its name, or something like that.
  11. The really like when you call it Frisco. That’s also very popular there. Truckers used that term on the CB radio.
  12. Yup. It all because of the Hawkey Gawds.
  13. Yeah. They need Risto. That will help.
  14. I think the problem is that is pretty much all we have with Levi at 21 projecting to be a starter after only 7 NHL games.
  15. President typically sets the strategy for the hockey operations and ties them to the business goals. This gets flowed to the GM. Every organization can run things a bit different. Adams made the jump from the business side to the Hockey Operations side. He also took that long road trip with the team to observe how things were going and report back. Needless to say Adams new a lot about what was going on with the team.
  16. Ouch. Speak for yourself. My comment was more directed at Jones. Sure, Briere deserves a shot, why not? And hiring Keith Jones from the broadcast booth is a great idea. He bleeds black and orange, and he wants to be there, rah rah.
  17. Agree. As great as Coffey was, Orr was even more dominant. Orr was a guy that changed the way the game was played. Like Gretzky, but only from the defensive position.
  18. To bad Porto bailed on us, he would have been a good development project. Leinonen is far away. Comrie is a backup. UPL is still TBD. Thankful we have Levi right now. Yes, we should probably draft another Goalie.
  19. McDavid responded to the nasty Pietrangelo slash on Draisaitl, and he quickly was looking for reinforcements. Nurse was the response, he jumped Hague at the end of the game and did a good answering. Vegas was definitely getting a bit unruly.
  20. I would not take him back because moving on is important, although he is s very good player. He would not want to come back either. It is unfortunate that the Sabres gave the keys to the kingdom to a few kids that were not ready yet.
  21. My kids are of the age to get invited to attend those events. We just didn't do that stuff when I was having kids.
  22. I think the Panthers can break their hearts tonight.
