He did.

So you don’t like him?

We are in hockey doldrums. The big off season moves are over and most fans are skeptical on Adams and Ruff The Bills have all the buzz in town, as usual. New season, Josh Allen, Hard Knocks, etc. Tre White is back but the goalie camp remains closed. The Sabres season tickets are down to 9,000 and Canadians are not coming over nearly as much. Terry Pegula is basking in Bills fever and he made a somewhat telling comment last week.. His comment on the Bills was “ you don’t have to micro-manage when you have competent people running things”.

It's finally happening... the end of the Bat Curse, Cup to follow

I was at Canalside several times in the past few months , looking for Lorentz, walking on old Aud grounds. Didn’t see Jim but thought I saw a ghost or two. -
Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan just played at Darien Lake. Anyone go?

Besides improved goaltending and team defense you missed the impact that Thompson, Dahlin and Tuch have. They will wear the letters and they need bring consistent star power and leadership. They have to put the team on their backs. No more big losing streaks.

I picked the first option. I think he is going to be a good player.

You could be referring to Derek Trucks. Today he and his wife, Susan Tedeschi, lead the Tedeschi Trucks Band.

I saw Robert Cray open for Eric Clapton back in 2006. Excellent guitarist.

McDonalds exists because standards are low, very low. My advice is to never eat that stuff.

Free agency takes care of the human perspective and I have no problem with that. Adams bath water is self induced but it would be interesting to see how long the average “ rebuild” is today versus past decades.
-
Unlike the NFL, the draft is not the primary way to build in the NHL. Minor league development, ability to make trades, and free agency are equally as important. When players are allowed to refuse trades it hurts the bottom teams or the less glitzy destinations. NFL rosters are more than twice the size as an NHL roster. I see 260 NMCs in the NHL, and only 7 in the NFL. I think NMCs are hurting the ability of many teams to compete. And get rid of the "over the salary cap" NHL playoff teams too. Now that is really dumb.

Congrats. Your son shows compassion, you and your wife did good. Yes, they have a lot of work ahead and i hope they can get the dog healthy again. Twelve years ago my son found a Pit Bull puppy that was discarded on the streets. I did not like it at the time but he took him in. He took him to the vet and got him healthy. He trained him and he had a great companion until April when the dog passed away. That dog was good for him.

You are probably correct. I keep thinking like the 31 other teams.

You told us what to expect on Clifton. In his interview with Jon Scott he talked about the first season in Buffalo, playing on his wrong side, and how he had trouble the adjusting to Granato's system. He did recover that first season and ended with a +12 after a horrendous start. He was accountable for his performance though and made no excuses. Everything about Clifton's game declined under Lindy which surprised me. He even had less PIMs and less fights, and he saw very limited action at the end of the season. It was time for both parties to move on. I have some big concerns about how the players reacted to Lindy. The team play declined overall, and the Athletic had that players survey (limited to 111 players) that was not complimentary to Lindy at all. Big year coming for both Adams and Lindy. Cozens - you have to admit he really struggled again. I don't understand how he got the "A" and lets face it, he was handed the 2C job years ago. Cozens (and others such as Quinn and Peterka) were allowed to play a one-way game in their first few seasons.

Devon Levi signed to a 2 year 812k contract extension
Pimlach replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
He needs to be near perfect on angles to take away more net, and like most young goalies better rebound control to prevent multiple shots. If he gets deep into the crease he leaves a lot to shoot at. At 6 ft he is on the small side by todays NHL standards, 2 inches below average and the average is trending up not down. Still a very good prospect but sometimes size matters. -
Tribute bands - I did see The Strictly Hip in North Tonawanda on July 4th. I sure miss Gordie.

Fabulous band. They are all true craftsmen of their instruments.

Lots of data there to consider. Tage, Dahlin, Tuch and many question marks. I wish I could get excited about this team.

And the problem is right there in bold. It should be a make or break year for Kevyn Adams, he is lucky to be employed as an NHL GM. I’m quite certain no other NHL team would hire him as GM. Dahlin and Thompson should be long term building blocks. This bull$hit of players asking to leave and getting accommodated must stop. I don’t think you will find anywhere in my posts that says they did little or nothing. I don’t think they did enough but if all the stars align, and they stay healthy, and a bunch of them have great years then who knows?

Rust, but it has to be 2 years or less.
