  1. Think about if Knox holds on for the TD, and if Shikar holds on for the bomb. There were 4 catchable drops. That’s puts Josh at 500 yards and at least 4 TDS. All facets of the team made big plays and also they made mistakes. We gave up a long punt return to set up a score. We had a kickoff out of bounds that cost us a FG. On defense we gave up several 3rd and longs, and very longs too. McD said it was not “complimentary football” today. He had a few odd timeout moments. Miami tried some new things today.
  2. Great win today. Yeah, they had a lead, they turned the ball over, dropped passes, coaching …. Blah blah blah. They have a home game next week. They are more healthy than they have been in a while. That’s 8 wins in a row. Go Bills!
  3. I thought they had to play down there, not just be on the paper roster. This makes sense though. Kind of stinks to lose money, I guess the way to avoid that is to not get picked to be sent down, huh. Thanks.
  4. Interesting. Someone in another thread said that the players lose money every time they get "moved down" - do they?
  5. Sure he has a great two way game. But it’s not ridiculous to play him with someone that can steady things down and not need help. It helps with Joker back, as opposed to pairing him with the bottom 5,6,7. He is the 20 year old rookie, right?
  6. Agree. If Girgs is feeling better then bring him back, and bring Krebs back too.
  7. Peterka is listed at 6' and 189 lbs but I agree that he sure looks a little bigger (stouter) than Quinn to me. I can see him being a hard guy to play against if he chooses to be. The speed and skill of these three is exciting, even though they can get pushed around and bottled up at times. Put 24 year old bodies and experience on them and look out.
  8. I am sensitive to anyone hitting our goalie, after the Miller-Lucic situation, I always want a response. This was of course nothing like the Lucic hit, but I was triggered by that hit last night for sure. It is a part of my old school hockey up bringing that can't be suppressed. We didn't score on the PP, that would have been enough. We don't have the players to answer their 4th line, which is stocked with slow hulking bodies. I can see the Sabres eventually running 4 lines that can skate the pants off of other teams. There only a few bigger forward prospects in the system. I want to see us get bigger in defense. I want to add a big, strong, mobile, and smart veteran on the 2nd pair with Power. I say smart because I don't want a Risto, who has all the other attributes. Get this guy and let Power create and not have to cover for anyone. Move Joker to the 3rd pair with Lobby. Joker is another interesting guy. At 23 now, he already has 230 NHL games. He is listed at 6' and 200 lbs. Most of his strength is lower body, which is great for his skating and stamina. I think off-season emphasis on upper body strength training would help him a lot. He could play at 205, no problem.
  9. Awful? No one played Seattle better than Buffalo did on their recent 7 game road trip sweep. Everyone else got stomped, even Boston got shut out at home. Winnipeg and Buffalo were tied in the 3rd and they needed a breakaway goal and their Star goalie to stand on head to beat us. Expectations are skewed. Cozens, Krebs, Quinn and Peterka are all 21. Power is 20. Samuelsson is 22. UPL is 23. We are playing 7 kids. That is over 1/3 of the dressed players. Development should happen all the time, in practice, in games, in every league. Development happens in the NHL.
  10. Details, details. Never seen so much concern over 3 goalies and rotation of rookie players onto a paper farm. Quinn and Peterka played lights out after sitting out two. The correct response from them to a good move by DG.
  11. He is listed at 6’ and 185lbs. He can play in the 190’s someday. All he needs is more upper body strength. He falls a lot like Reinhart did in his early days. He will get stronger and better.
  12. Sure they dealt with it. I didn’t mention how many times Quinn and Peterka were hit, especially Quinn. Quinn was falling all over the ice but he kept coming and got the goal that closed them out. Good game for the Sabres. I guess they know what other teams are going to do to slow them down.
  13. Definitely my opinion too. This is a team being built for speed and skill and they really do not take advantage of opportunities to check their opponents. Not sure their style can work in a 4 round, best of 7 playoff.
  14. I thought they took a lot of hits. Our goalie got hit. Power got blasted a few times. Bryson obliterated numerous times. In fact, Jost retaliated for one with a slash. So did Looby in the first period. They kept skating and working through it though.
  15. I like the balanced scoring, the return of The Kids. Terry Crisp is doing the post game for the Preds. He was a really good Buffalo Bison in the AHL, then a solid member of the Flyers cup teams.
  16. The Kid Line makes the statement with an insurance tally.
  17. Win the draw, break out, get puck deep, and change - they have to execute that.
  18. Not a good penalty, tired of getting blasted. That’s not the way to do it.
