  1. And you are a better man for it! I will bet you did not go home and tell your parents either.
  2. I have 1 road win and 3 home losses this season. Seems about right. Tonight is a good test. Many times this season they have underperformed at home against lower ranking teams. Columbus will be gunning for them, they didn't like getting embarrassed the last game. I think the Sabres will rise to the occasion and play a good game for a 5-2 win tonight. Enjoy the game!
  3. I picked Comrie for tonight. Seems like it was his time in the rotation, game at home, against a lesser opponent and leaves Anderson for the Broons. Hmmm. He beat Tampa and only let in 5. LOL
  4. I have done it a few times last year also, we sat near in my brothers old 200 level seats (they are corporate seats). They ushers and waitresses still know him. It was sad to hear how lonely the workers get with such small crowds in there now.
  5. sure, in the 70's, 80's, 90, and even 00's. Today you go online, wait for the tickets to go in sale. press click, click, click - and then you have Sabre tickets in your iPhone wallet. Does matter if you do this from Worcester or West Seneca. Since Boston has sold out something like 500+ straight games, this is your chance to see them. Jet Blue round trip for under $200, or you drive 7 hours. Add one night in a hotel. Add food and incidentals and you probably still break even cost wise.
  6. You might be right, you might be wrong. You have not seen him play in Buffalo yet.
  7. I basically said that in the Stillman thread. What you are trying to say is, look Jost is pretty good, maybe Stillman will be too, so trust Adams. I will watch him play and we will see. Not gonna trust Adams or blast Adams until we see what else he is up to and how this guy plays. Still, if this is Adams' move to shore up the defense it is pretty benign, to say the least.
  8. I am on board for ownership donating tickets, but cardboard cut-outs? really? Ushers are not going to do that, it is way to chaotic. They tend to look the other way when people from the 300 level move down.
  9. Don't bet on it. Just the local college students from NE area are enough to make a loud impact. As soon as playoff tickets goon sale on line they are fair game. People from Mass can fly here direct on Jet Blue for $129, stay the night, and get tickets to the game all for less than they would have in Boston - which has no ticket availability anyway.
  10. Bucci tired to put a good spin on it. No doubt, hockey support has been seriously injured in WNY. Sure the cost of living today is part of it, but it just feels like the passion for hockey is so much less now. Its going to take a few more years to show the casual fans what this team is all about. KA, you want to bring the fans back? Make the playoffs.
  11. We need another depth defenseman right now. Can't really should not wait around for the right one to appear on waivers. Not at this time of year when rosters are not limited as of Saturday. We don't know that Stillman isn't good, we know that he has had mixed performances on a few different teams and his ceiling is a 6. He is a depth guy. We are trading a B level prospect forward at a position we have in surplus for a defenseman that already plays as a 3rd pairing in the NHL.
  12. Absolutely. We were carrying 7 defenseman, Dahlin gets hurt and it takes us to 6. Who know who else is playin banged up? You need 8 on the roster. He will probably be better than Clague/Bryson, we will see. Not the move I wanted but there are a few days left to Friday.
  13. I don’t think Peterka is floating, he is thinking, the game has not slowed down for him yet. He is still very young.
  14. Looks like we have another 6/7/8 guy to go with Bryon and Clague. So the organization has at least 8 defenseman with NHL experience going into this critical stretch. I feel more moves are coming. The have to figure out how to fit him unless he joins after Friday. If he turns out to be a Jost-like pick-up, he is the new 6. I was hoping for more impact, either adding a 4 and moving Joker with Boosh on the 3rd pair, or adding a much more experienced 5/6 type. As far as Bloom goes, he was a pretty long shot.
  15. I value the leadership of Kyle and Zemgus. If we lose one, having the other might be good. I know that Greenway is really big and would be a deterrent to opposing wise guys. Can he skate, play PK, and help shut down an opposing line? I like that.
  16. Nah, I want them to crumble in the first round. They deserve that.
  17. Lots of times I cant even figure out what he is saying. He is either funny, or I don't understand him at all.
  18. The Tampa model. Still paying a lot for McCabe
  19. I would like this to be true. To be honest I would also be happy with a less fancy, defensive minded 4/5 type of vet that costs less.
