  1. Bennett is a classic playoff player.
  2. Lots of hitting. Especially Florida, they are rugged.
  3. Great Mother’s Day for the entire family. The big steak dinner put on by yours truly is over, and everyone is gone. Hockey time in the Man Cave. Time to savor one more glass of Ruffino Chianti that I shipped back from Tuscany.
  4. Joe Kowal and the draft of 76. I almost forgot that guy. Denis Tsygurov is also a candidate for the all Russian Sabres team.
  5. Did the Sabres hire an executive level Senior Advisor yet?
  6. I don’t care if a player has success after he leaves Buffalo. I just want trades that improve the team NOW.
  7. Muel has become a poster boy for the failed rebuild. Big contract after 57 games, injury prone, not physical, … I think both Byram and Muel will be moved out. Byram is almost certainly gone. Muel will be hard to trade, and we get to hear how hard it is to get players to come here.
  8. Sure. But Adams then has to replace Byram with an NHL player, a RHD with a defense-first style. It’s been a big need to way to long. It’s a pairing that makes sense. Each player has strengths and flaws but they are complimentary.
  9. I used to think this but the last interview with Marek says otherwise. He is speaking out on some uncomfortable subjects. Most of what he said in the interview are things we have been saying here.
  10. Sure. Maybe, there are lots of possibilities. Are you implying that Terry is going to conduct a thorough job search for the next GM/POHO? One with clearly stated job requirements and with solid rationale for making a selection? All he has to do is really commit to winning and find that ONE guy and let him bring in the others.
  11. I think hiring an executive level hockey advisor is not happening. Terry is learning that the senior candidates with experience won’t work for Adams.
  12. Awesome. The Rat.
  13. OT in Sunrise, Fla. Reinhart time.
  14. The same level of search that talked to Lindy and no other head coaches? Meanwhile Coach Berube is doing ok in Toronto. The Sabres never bothered to talk to him.
  15. I want this fictitious "senior advisor" to actually be the President of Hockey Operations and to have a Stanley Cup pedigree, to be respected around the league, to work full time, and to be in Buffalo while doing it. IF he meets these requirement then he should decide who the GM is, what the rest of the FO looks like, who the coaches are, how the roster is built, and how the farm system is run. Is this too much to ask? Isn't this normal for 31 other teams? Has the entire world gone mad?
  16. Wasn't there a rumor that Dudley would not join the Sabres if Adams is GM? Add Lou and Holland to the list. I would guess the list is long.
  17. Scouting is on the road job. You cannot scout by sitting in Buffalo. Being in management is another story altogether. First he is essentially a rookie learning a new job. Part of the learning is involvement, shadowing the higher level execs, attending meetings, being at the games, being there when things come up to see and learn and help. ZOOM meetings online are great for preplanned meetings and events, but for leadership jobs you will miss a lot by being away. I would require my special assistant to be in the place where it happens, at least during the regular season. Who knows though, he may be in Buffalo half the time and on the road with the team too.
  18. True but Dudley is 76 years old, has NHL coaching/GM/POHO experience, and held consulting/advising executive positions on at least 8 teams. Besides that I believe he works part time. He deserved the work from home benefit. Eric Staal is not close to that. How is he going to make those runs to Tim Hortons for Lindy and the coaches?
  19. Because his name reminds you of this guy?
  20. Cody Hodgson should get an honorary Rico for the hard work, dedication and amazing recovery.
  21. ROR - Team Barista and that thoughtful guy who brings doughnuts to early morning team meetings.
  22. Is there a "U" somewhere in the logo? Full disclosure on the question. It took me many decades, like 4, to realize that that original Canucks logo, the rink and stick, had a C in it.
  23. The Thoner experiment has ended?
  24. Good to have the real @PASabreFan back, Stoner was a diversion, but the original is best.
