  1. But we were told they are "refreshed" from the break...………………..
  2. 7 - 0 in shots, and yet Botterill says "points are important"...………….
  3. If Belfour wants to have a few drinks, lay on his back, and clutch a "curtain rod" (man, have terms used changed these days), I don't think it "rises" to the level of unusual hallway décor abuse that is anything out of the ordinary...…………...
  4. lol I literally spewed beer through my nostrils at this. Thank you kind sir!
  5. Yea Tom, I figure they'll build around him, but, at some point and time, everything has a price, well, in this case, a massive over pay. Just how much is Larkin worth to a team like the Sabres as opposed to the Red Wings? Well, Stevie Y is no fool, four 1st's unprotected and both Middelstadt and Borgen, and I'd firmly say you have your Larkin. And while a good portion of die hard fans would scream in pain at the four 1st's, a fan like myself would wide eye'd smile at each and every game he played in for us. Is the price steep? It should be. How much of a difference would Larkin make as opposed to the assets I listed? He'd be a catalyst for the arrival of the Sabres on the cup contention scene, in my most humbled opinion.
  6. No, I wouldn't give up Risto for either.
  7. One name, one player to wield the 2C spot amongst them all, one team looking for a no holds barred rebuild, 3 1st round unprotected draft picks and a B+ or higher prospects to get him...……………. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you...……………………. DYLAN LARKIN of the Detroit Red Wings. 3 unprotected 1st round picks, Casey Mittelstadt or William Borgen. There is your 2C.
  8. Ok, ok.....well, the boys at Oxy chemical I&E shop call him Capt'n Crunch because of all the OT thrillers. It's Peanut Butter if he makes a mistake, it's a Berry if he nails it lol. So, if he wins it in the 3rd or OT or drives the game overall, they'll come in the next day and say Capt'n Crunch got his Berry's, if he makes a mistake, a bad pass or is gassed due to over use and the Sabres blow it, they'll say Capt'n Crunch got no Berry's tonight lol.
  9. Yep.
  10. Skinner needs to be on Jacks wing. This is a no brainer.
  11. Luck does have some role, but as both Scotty Bowman said when rebuilding the Red Wings, "luck played a very minor role, solid scouting philosophy won the day", and Steve Yzerman of the Lightning attested to, "We have a great scouting and development team" point out, luck is an after thought to a formula of success.
  12. A player asking to be traded isn't a unicorn. It happens from time to time. And he needs to "force" nothing. The Pegulas public mantra has been "We want players that want to be here". If Jack adamantly doesn't want to be here, which is a very real possibility given the acceptance of the Sabres organization to remain a bottom feeder, i don't believe for one second he'd have to go in to mortal combat in an arena with Botterill or the Pegulas to get a trade.
  13. Most likely case I suspect. Which leads many, including myself, to ponder this question: if he's unwilling to deal high end assets, including the unprotected 1st, to get Eichel the help roster wise to elevate this team to a contender while Jack is in his early prime years, as that contract winds down why would Eichel stay? And to further dive in to this subject, what's to prevent Jack from feeling so disgruntled that he just asks for a trade? While some will laugh off such questions, the fact is under the Pegula ownership there has been literally near 0 signs this team will climb out of the bottom feeders category. Failure and perpetual mediocrity are now a staple of the Sabres fan base, and the NHL league fans in general as well as the agents and players are not blind to this as well. So the question, at least in my humble opinion, is a valid one.
  14. While I'm not one to give up on such a young kid is Mitts so early on, moving him now, before his stock drops through the bottom of the bucket may very well be the best thing to do to get value for him.
  15. "After surrendering his top selection in this year’s draft to the Ottawa Senators as part of the deal to get defenceman Erik Karlsson in September 2018, the word is Wilson is embarrassed that could be a lottery selection because of the backwards turn the Sharks have taken this season and, as a result, he’ll try desperately to get a first-rounder back at this year’s deadline." Caught this on another venue. If true, Botterill should be all over this. My view, Hertl for Okposo and the 2020 1st unprotected, if the deal is done like right now. If not, the closer to the deadline, I would have to see where the Sabres sit in the standings, but yea, Hertl would be an immediate 2C.
  16. Their possession game tonight is being negated by pressure and lost puck battles, the same thing we saw in November and December.
  17. The wifey told me to shave the gruff off before I come up for the night just before the end of the 2nd. Well, feeling it after a couple of delicious margarita's, I sauntered in to the bathroom down here and slapped on the ole gel and commenced to scraping the lazy day off. Now, here is the epiphany part, I keep my goatee, so, I wiped away the excess gel, and, wait for it...……………...the gray hairs are so prominent now I thought I didn't wipe my goatee off, after I had just done it, so did it again. When I realized what I had done, I thought to my self, "man, I'm getting old", and for a split second, felt a bit depressed. But...………..then I remembered the split waiting upstairs for me, and after all these decades, it's still just like my first ? Now, excuse me, I have to open the new container of chocolate syrup up, and wash the strawberry's off ?
  18. They didn't regain control, at all. I could see your point of view, if they had, but they never sniffed the puck until it was in the their net after he coughed it up in the O zone.
  19. Jesus Jack, win a face off already little buddy.
  20. Yep, I watched him, he was useless, just standing in the slot all alone while his team mates were fighting every which way for the puck. He needs to go.
