  1. Hutton gaining confidence as the team in front of him plays an offensive zone game.
  2. There is something to be said about Skinner's situation here in Buffalo. Whether it be his line mates or his inability to drive a line by itself is not for me to say, he's had less than a full season here yet to prove that and I'm not sure what exactly excelled him in Carolina. What I do know is this, as Jack Eichel's left wing last season, he scored 40+ goals. And while that is one season, a contract season no less, wroth of evidence, I have 0 doubt he'd have more goals than he does now being married to Eichel again. This fan base begged, literally begged to get Eichel help. Well, they did, and now, that help has played less than what? 2 games with Eichel this season? 6 games maybe over all when taking in to account shift change overs and what not? There is something to be said about coaching, about coaching strategy and player usage. While yes, Olofsson was excelling as well there on LW with Eichel, it was the power play that brought Olofsson's numbers up early on. The more proven commodity on Jack's LW is Skinner. In the final analysis, we need a 2C, and a solid one at that. Assets will have to be turned over to get it. How much will it cost? Well, Tom Webster and I had a brief touch on the subject just the other day, IMHO a Dylan Larkin type player. That, my friend, is going to be pricey. But remember this, Eichel is entering those prime years, AAV and term on contract will be critical to make the push forward, using Dylan Larkin and the current rebuild of the Red Wings as the example yet again, Larkin is 23 at 6.1 mil for another 3 seasons. What would you be willing to spend to get him? What would a rebuilding team like Detroit be looking for, 1st rd picks and prospects with high value? This is merely the example, there are I am sure, others. But regardless, it's the price we are looking at combined with the situation. The Sabres are in get in contention now mode in my opinion, waiting for more picks to develop and trying to achieve that Briere type lightning in a bottle scenario isn't exactly a full press court way to try and get to that contention level, again, IMHO.
  3. Yes, I did, and I'm hopeful that isn't the case. Just espousing my concern on the subject PA, if it is poorly worded, rest assured, it was unintentional.
  4. While I completely relate to Duane's frustrations, having been a die hard since my first memories, back in the mid 70's, what caught my eye in the article is it points to harrasing behavior against the Pegula's. While not listing specifics, that concerns me, and not for fear of them uprooting the team or selling it off, but because we here in the Greater Niagara Region are better than that. Yes, it's fine to voice your displeasure with their decisions to date and yes their actions with the club should be scrutinized, but that should never be an excuse to harass them. Let your voice be heard, pour your heart out as Duane did, but always keep in the back of your mind the Pegula's are people, they are parents, they shouldn't be made to feel threatened. That is my concern.
  5. Sabretooth may very well be on the Trade Block. If we could swing a deal for Gritty we'd at least have some snarl in the arena on game nights........https://nhl.nbcsports.com/2020/01/22/philadelphia-flyers-mascot-gritty-punch-fan-police-investigation/
  6. Yep Doohickie, I spent quite a bit of time in TX, the Houston-Bueamont corridor and Midland-Odessa corridor. I really enjoyed San Antonio.
  7. Actually, Austin TX is quite beautiful, so is San Antonio TX, I would accept a move to either and be more than happy to follow them there ?
  8. I'm not arguing Curt, I stated I didn't believe the NHL gives a hoot about what Buffalo fans think, and they don't, regardless of how ticket, merchandise and other sales go. They don't care if such a small market slacks on TV viewer ship. They care about larger markets, markets that have the ability to grow. Buffalo, unfortunately, does not for what ever reason. They were borderline back when Hamilton wanted a team, it would be wise to remember that.
  9. Oh I didn't say the franchise didn't make money, it does, primarily through revenue share, but merchandise and ticket sales play a role as well. And in case you hadn't noticed, ticket sales and ticket re-sales, they're down, merchandise, well, even I bought an Eichel 50th. But here is the thing, I was going to buy 7 of them this year, 6 players and one custom 50th for my future "Hall of Swords" man cave in the new house the Mrs. and I are having built. I didn't. Those 6 Jersey's that they didn't sell to me due to their performance, that's "lost revenue". Now, how many fans do you think have already, are now or are going to take my course of action due to, "Performance"?
  10. I am still in love with her to this day. The Mrs. knows it, and for awhile, back in the day, would emphasis not missing a JAG episode, you know, for evening calisthenics encouragement ?
  11. I so wish the larger population had a true inkling of what this statement means. But, I digress...………………... Hockey wise, I agree. Truer words not been spoken in a long time. We don't even get a "No Goal" anymore. We have been relegated to "HOCKEY HELL".
  12. Because they don't give a hoot about Buffalo fans. We are one of the smallest markets in the league, they could literally care less about this region, regardless of TV viewer ship. They don't care. This region was once just over 3 million people, it isn't now, not even close. We fans have 0 pull here in the Buffalo region when it comes to the NHL.
  13. Sorry Ink, I didn't. My bad...…….
  14. Came to post some humor in line with this, but, you did a fine job ?
  15. Well, St. Louis winning a cup certainly has the league all smiles given the length of time it took there, and ROR was undeniably the catalyst for that venture to occur. As I said, I'm 100% positive warm fuzzy feelings everywhere, including NHL HQ that Botterill is Buffalo........
  16. After the ROR trade I'm more than positive the entire leagues management teams love them some Botterill in Buffalo.......
  17. Great, talk of Pegulas being frustrated, just like us fans. One difference, he's getting paid for his frustrations, which I'm sure helps lesson the blow, we fans on the other hand, well were frustrated and we often pay to be, that increases the frustration.
  18. I give it 6 years as I consider 2014, 2015 and 2016 as the core tear down and reconstruction years. But still, your view is a valid one. Very spot on.
  19. This line of thinking baffles me. What future? Seriously. I mean, as it stands right now, I don't see a future for this team that includes success. I don't see Cozens coming right in to the NHL, they made that mistake with Mittelstadt. Who else 8s there? Borgen? Great, we have another RHD on a team that is currently over flowing with RHD's. I see no immediate help coming from the system. Maybe my vision is skewed, but it is how I am viewing the situation.
