It should have already have happened, that is the ONLY correct answer.

21-22 at the earliest, with the "right" roster subtraction and additions COMBINED with the proper adherence to "not accepting poor culture standards". And when I say culture standards, I mean accepting under performing and under achieving.

I'm done with believing the Pegula's will do the right thing here. There is just to much evidence to the contrary. I can't see Jack sticking around after 5 years of his career are circling the toilet bowl. Let's be honest for a moment, he's a competitor, he's not competing here, and quite honestly, do you believe Botterill can reshape this roster in 1 off season to turn it in to a true cup contender? Not a roster building towards such mind you, but a true cup contender? I don't believe for a single second he is capable. Next season will be much like this season with maybe, and I stress maybe, a few more points. Botterill has proven nothing. The team itself, the roster, is completely without identity. They are pussies on the ice, they run like cowards from the physical game, they don't back one another, they have near 0 chemistry, they can't hit the broad side of a barn when shooting, and they have not a clue what winning a puck battle means. It is what it is, and that would be the Product of one Terry Pegula.

I bet it's coming, and sooner than you think. There is no savior coming in the off season, no trade that's going to turn around the fortunes of this organization in the immediate future, no prospect that's going to step in and save the day. I'm calling it now, Eichel will be gone by the end of the next season, either at the dead line or in that off season.

I am now completely expecting something to happen. Jack asking quietly for a trade, Botterill being removed, a few trades, a President of Hockey Ops brought in...………..something. This cannot continue as is. Under the Pegula ownership, the Sabres brand among players not only in the league, but the minors and future draft picks has to have reached such a low level of dread that I don't think it will recover from it in the next 4 to 5 years to be honest, maybe longer. It is that bad.

Botterill and any other forward not named Skinner
Scottysabres replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
There is something to be said about Skinner's situation here in Buffalo. Whether it be his line mates or his inability to drive a line by itself is not for me to say, he's had less than a full season here yet to prove that and I'm not sure what exactly excelled him in Carolina. What I do know is this, as Jack Eichel's left wing last season, he scored 40+ goals. And while that is one season, a contract season no less, wroth of evidence, I have 0 doubt he'd have more goals than he does now being married to Eichel again. This fan base begged, literally begged to get Eichel help. Well, they did, and now, that help has played less than what? 2 games with Eichel this season? 6 games maybe over all when taking in to account shift change overs and what not? There is something to be said about coaching, about coaching strategy and player usage. While yes, Olofsson was excelling as well there on LW with Eichel, it was the power play that brought Olofsson's numbers up early on. The more proven commodity on Jack's LW is Skinner. In the final analysis, we need a 2C, and a solid one at that. Assets will have to be turned over to get it. How much will it cost? Well, Tom Webster and I had a brief touch on the subject just the other day, IMHO a Dylan Larkin type player. That, my friend, is going to be pricey. But remember this, Eichel is entering those prime years, AAV and term on contract will be critical to make the push forward, using Dylan Larkin and the current rebuild of the Red Wings as the example yet again, Larkin is 23 at 6.1 mil for another 3 seasons. What would you be willing to spend to get him? What would a rebuilding team like Detroit be looking for, 1st rd picks and prospects with high value? This is merely the example, there are I am sure, others. But regardless, it's the price we are looking at combined with the situation. The Sabres are in get in contention now mode in my opinion, waiting for more picks to develop and trying to achieve that Briere type lightning in a bottle scenario isn't exactly a full press court way to try and get to that contention level, again, IMHO. -

Yes, I did, and I'm hopeful that isn't the case. Just espousing my concern on the subject PA, if it is poorly worded, rest assured, it was unintentional. -
Must Listen Radio: Caller Duane Snaps Live on GR-55
Scottysabres replied to Kruppstahl's topic in The Aud Club
While I completely relate to Duane's frustrations, having been a die hard since my first memories, back in the mid 70's, what caught my eye in the article is it points to harrasing behavior against the Pegula's. While not listing specifics, that concerns me, and not for fear of them uprooting the team or selling it off, but because we here in the Greater Niagara Region are better than that. Yes, it's fine to voice your displeasure with their decisions to date and yes their actions with the club should be scrutinized, but that should never be an excuse to harass them. Let your voice be heard, pour your heart out as Duane did, but always keep in the back of your mind the Pegula's are people, they are parents, they shouldn't be made to feel threatened. That is my concern.
