I think he has started doing just that. Obviously he started with Skinner, has added Johansson, and drafted Cozens. He is developing some players in Roch that will hopefully allow us to not skip a beat when they need to be inserted into our roster in the future. I believe in the old adage that you build from the goalie out. In that respect, I think JBot has/ is doing a fine job.He started with bring Hutton in, drafting 6K, and continuing the development Ullmark and Johansson. Hutton being the place-holder while the others are brought along. He then turned to the defense and has brought us to where we are now with some of the best depth we have seen. Plus we have guys not even here yet like Laaksonen, Samuelsson, and Johnson. Tage might have been the start of working on developing the forwards with guys like Johansson/Vesey being the holders that allow them time to draft, develop, trade for, and sign better players to finish our big project.

I wasn't even suggesting making any changes in those positions, just conveying that every position could be upgraded is all. And to a point I agree with where you're at as far as 2RW being an easier place to start. But how about Vesey's spot? Things are working currently and until there is adversity that clearly shows where a problem there is no real urgency. Sure, if something becomes available that upgrades you have to consider it.

That's why I included the part "in your defense". But it's not hyperbole when it's the truth....there are better and easier positions to upgrade. I just don't see the urgency at that position.

This really isn't a reason, there are more troubling spots to upgrade. Besides that, we "could" be better at every position. Is Crosby better than Jack? Is Price better than Hutton? Is Burns better than Risto? Is Ovie better than Skinner? I'd be much more inclined to make a change elsewhere than the 2C. However, in your defense, that 2c upgrade would push Johansson to take maybe either Vlad's or Vesey's spot in which case it would be an upgrade that I would consider. But if your intention is to replace Johansson by getting a better 2C then I don't see (in other words trading him+ for another 2C) it worth it.
